Fale Andrew Lesā JP is a 32 year old diplomat with more than ten years of experience at the United Nations. He is currently a policy consultant at the Asian Development Bank where he works alongside some of the world's fastest growing economies. In his tenure as a diplomat, Fale has visited more than a hundred countries and every continent except Antarctica. He was recently appointed a director at NCD Child, a global coalition funded by AstraZeneca, where he's actively involved in the COVID-19 recovery effort.
Fale was recently published by Georgetown University in Washington DC and is a Pacific fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
At home, Fale was appointed by the government to the MIT university council. He was also elected to the city council and to a high school board where he was deputy chairman for ten years. Fale is indigenous to Samoa and wears tribal tattoos on more than a third of his body. He migrated to New Zealand with his family for a better life.

Fale Andrew Lesa is a seasoned diplomat for New Zealand and a policy consultant at the Asian Development Bank where he specialises in economic recovery. He has been published by Georgetown University and serves as a senior fellow at the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) in Washington DC. He's also a director at the Department of Conservation, the Manukau Institute of Technology, UNITEC New Zealand, the Ministry for Children, and the Ministry of Health. Fale specialises in North East Asia and will bring a strong international focus to New Zealand's COVID-19 recovery plan.
