SHORT SUMMARY
Silence does not collect, store, or share any personal data. No account
is required, no internet connection is required, there are no ads, and
there is no analytics tool.
WHERE YOUR DATA LIVES
Everything the app produces stays on your device only: your breath
measurements, breath-hold test results, session history, settings, and
language preference. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. You can
also delete it yourself anytime from Settings → Data → "Reset data."
MICROPHONE
The microphone is used during the "Your Own Breath" measurement. Audio
is never stored: each chunk of sound from the microphone is instantly
reduced to a few numbers, and the audio samples are discarded
immediately. The recording is never written to disk, never leaves your
device, and is never sent to any server.
HEALTH CONNECT (OPTIONAL)
If you turn it on in Settings, the duration of completed sessions is
written to Android's Health Connect. Only the start time, end time, and
title are written. This feature is off by default.
PERMISSIONS
- Microphone: only during breath measurement, as described above
- Vibration: to follow the breathing rhythm
- Health Connect: only if you enable it
No internet permission is requested; the app does not connect to the
internet.
CHILDREN
Silence is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data
from anyone — it does not collect data from any user.
