African black people can be said to be the most mobile population, as their presence can be seen in most countries around the world. In the past, the majority of African black people were forcibly abducted and sold by capitalists as commodities to serve as cheap labor in colonies. Before the abolition of slavery, African black people could only stay in the colonies to marry and have children. Due to the progress of ideas, human trafficking has gradually been prohibited over the past few hundred years, and modernized countries have gradually increased. Many African black people will actively leave their hometowns and go to modernized countries to seek employment opportunities, including China.
Blacks trail
There have been black people living in China since the Tang Dynasty, mainly the Negrito people from Southeast Asian islands and South Asia, and a very small number from Africa. They arrived in China's Tang Dynasty along the maritime Silk Road at that time.
After the establishment of the People's Republic of China, especially during the rapid economic development of China's reform and opening up period, the number of black people coming to China has increased significantly. Initially, African black people came as traders and businessmen, and they were among the first black people to come to Guangzhou. However, after the establishment of international friendship between China and Central Africa, many African black students came to China to study and provide more talents for China.

As of 2015, there were 49,792 African students studying in China, an increase of 8,115 people or 19.47% from 2014.
In 2016, the number of African students studying in China increased to 61,594, an increase of 11,802 people or 23.7% from 2014.
China has a large north-south span, which also results in a large temperature difference between the north and south in winter. Therefore, most black people from Africa tend to choose the warmer southern regions, and Guangzhou is the place with the highest concentration of black people in China.
As of February 25, 2017, there were 10,344 legal residents from African countries in Guangzhou.
As of April 25, 2017, the legal African residents in Guangzhou accounted for approximately 17% of the total foreign population (88,000 people), which is 14,960 people.
