FactFriction is designed with a privacy-first architecture. The following user preferences are stored strictly on your local device using local storage and are never uploaded to any personal server:
Your chosen app language (English or Hindi).
Your display theme (Dark mode or Light mode).
Your game stats (Streak count, quiz coins balance).
Your saved/bookmarked facts and favorites.
When you use the App, certain non-personally identifiable technical information may be collected automatically by verified third-party SDKs to deliver core app functionality and advertisements:
Device Identifiers: Advertising ID (Google Play Advertising ID / GAID), Android ID, device manufacturer, device model, and operating system version.
App Performance & Diagnostics: Crash logs, load times, and technical error reports to diagnose stability and ensure zero-crash performance.
Ad Interaction Data: General ad impressions, clicks, and rewarded ad completion events processed securely by Google AdMob.

We use Google AdMob to display non-intrusive banner, native, interstitial, and opt-in rewarded video advertisements. AdMob may collect and process device advertising identifiers and diagnostic data in compliance with Google's Advertising Policies.

We use Supabase as our secure cloud database provider to deliver dynamic daily facts, rotating HomeScreen sliders, and 12-hour trivia quizzes. The App connects anonymously using read-only API keys without transmitting user personal identities.

The information collected is used solely to:
Deliver daily facts, trivia challenges, and educational content.
Synchronize your 12-hour challenge timers and quiz rotation.
Display relevant, policy-compliant advertisements (with frequency caps to avoid disruptive interruptions).
Provide rewarded perks (such as saving streaks or earning bonus coins upon watching opt-in ads).
Monitor app stability, fix bugs, and prevent fraudulent activity or invalid ad traffic.
We do NOT sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal information to any third parties or data brokers.
FactFriction does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). Our content consists of general science, space, nature, history, and trivia facts intended for a general audience. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately, and we will delete such information promptly.
Resetting or Opting Out of Advertising ID: You can reset your device's Google Advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads at any time via your Android device settings:
Settings > Google > Ads > Reset advertising ID or Delete advertising ID.
Local Data Clearing: You can clear all local app data (including saved bookmarks and coin balances) at any time through your device settings:
Settings > Apps > FactFriction > Storage > Clear Data.
We value your trust in providing us with your information and employ commercially acceptable methods of protecting it. Since no personal accounts, passwords, or payment cards are required to use FactFriction, your risk of personal data exposure is virtually zero.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our legal obligations, features, or Google Play Store policies. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
