1. Our purpose and privacy commitment
Facebook™ Reels for PC is an independent Chrome extension that lets you watch and interact with Facebook Reels in Chrome's side panel using your existing Facebook session.
We do not sell, rent, monetize, or use your Facebook data for advertising, profiling, or purposes unrelated to the extension's features. The extension does not send your Facebook content, account information, credentials, or activity to servers operated by the developer. It does not include analytics, advertising trackers, or remote crash-reporting services.
The extension does process information locally to work. It also saves a small set of preferences on your device. This policy explains those activities rather than claiming that no data is ever processed or stored.
2. Information used to provide the features
While you use the extension, it processes the information needed to display Reels and their interactions: video and image URLs, captions, author names and profile pictures, post and comment identifiers, comment and reply text, timestamps, reaction counts, and your current reaction state. This information comes from Facebook and is held temporarily in browser memory.
The extension reads the current Facebook account identifier and request-security tokens within the Facebook page to check the session and perform supported requests. These values are not saved to extension storage or sent to the developer. Your browser supplies its existing Facebook cookies directly to Facebook when making authenticated requests. The extension does not use the Chrome cookies permission, extract cookie values, or ask you to enter your Facebook password into the extension. Sign-in takes place on Facebook itself.
The extension identifies a Facebook source tab and tracks its identifier and previous audio state to connect the side panel and avoid duplicate sound. It does not collect your general browsing history or monitor unrelated websites.
3. Comments, replies, reactions, and selected images
Text you type and an image you select are held locally in memory for the comment or reply composer. Selecting an image allows the extension to read that chosen file; it does not scan other files on your device. Choosing a file alone does not upload it to Facebook.
When you press Send or use the Enter shortcut, the extension sends the comment or reply and any selected image directly to Facebook under your account. When you click a reaction control, it sends that reaction change to Facebook. These actions are not sent to the developer.
Images are uploaded before the associated comment is created. Facebook may therefore receive an image even if the following comment request fails. Image files may contain embedded metadata; the extension does not remove that metadata before upload. Only select images you intend to share.
Facebook controls the visibility, processing, and retention of submitted content under its own policies and the applicable audience settings. Uninstalling the extension does not delete content or reactions already submitted to Facebook.
4. What is stored and for how long
Persistent local preferences: Chrome's extension storage saves sound/mute status, volume, automatic advance, and whether you dismissed the navigation guide. These preferences stay in your browser profile until changed or the extension is removed. The extension does not use Chrome sync storage or send these preferences to the developer.
Temporary browser-session state: Chrome's session storage holds identifiers of the Facebook source tab and windows with an open side panel, plus the source tab's previous mute state. This supports panel operation and audio restoration. Session storage is cleared when the browser session ends; some entries are also removed when the panel closes.
Temporary working memory: Reels, comments, drafts, selected image data, pagination information, and request results may remain in the relevant panel or Facebook page's memory while those contexts are running. They are not written to the extension's persistent storage. Closing the panel releases its working state; reloading or closing the Facebook source tab releases the page integration's working state. Closing only the panel does not necessarily clear information still held by the Facebook source tab.
Normal browser caches, Facebook cookies, and Facebook's own storage are controlled by Chrome and Facebook. The extension does not promise to erase those records.
5. Data recipients and external links
Facebook/Meta receives the requests needed to load content and perform the actions you choose. Videos and images load from Facebook's content-delivery services, including fbcdn.net and fbsbx.com. As with ordinary website requests, these services receive network information such as your IP address and browser request headers. No developer-operated proxy receives these requests.
The review button opens Chrome Web Store, and the optional donation button opens Buy Me a Coffee. Those sites process information you choose to provide under their own policies. The extension does not collect payment-card details or attach Facebook content, credentials, or session tokens to those links. Copy Link writes the selected Reel's URL to your clipboard only when you choose that action.
6. Permissions and security
The sidePanel permission displays the Reels interface. The storage permission saves the preferences and temporary state described above. The scripting permission and access to www.facebook.com and m.facebook.com allow the extension to connect its interface to the Facebook page in your browser.
The extension uses HTTPS for Facebook requests and media. Its supported operations are limited to the features described in this policy. It does not request access to your microphone, camera, location, or unrelated websites.
7. Limited Use
Our use and transfer of user data comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Information accessed by the extension is used only to provide its disclosed features. It is not used or transferred for personalized advertising, data brokerage, creditworthiness assessments, or lending decisions. The extension does not make your Facebook data available to the developer or other people for inspection.
8. Your choices and deletion
You can change playback preferences in the popup, remove an attachment before sending, close the side panel, and disable or uninstall the extension at chrome://extensions/. Uninstalling removes the extension's local preferences. To stop its page integration, also reload or close open Facebook tabs after disabling or uninstalling it.
Use Facebook's own controls to delete published comments or images, remove reactions, manage your account, or change Facebook privacy settings. Use Chrome's controls to manage site cookies and cached data. We do not hold a separate developer-side database of your Facebook activity to delete.
9. Policy changes and contact
We will update this policy if the extension's data practices change and revise the date above. Changes that require a separate disclosure or consent will be presented before the new processing begins.
For privacy questions, contact DevFunny through the developer contact details on the extension's Chrome Web Store listing. Do not include passwords, cookies, session tokens, or other authentication credentials in a support request. If you voluntarily contact us, we use the information you provide to respond to and resolve your request, retaining it only as needed for that purpose or to meet legal obligations. This is separate from the extension's operation, which does not send Facebook data to us.
Facebook™ Reels for PC is not affiliated with or endorsed by Facebook or Meta. This policy covers the extension; Facebook, Chrome Web Store, Buy Me a Coffee, and your browser have their own privacy practices.
