Facebook Customer Support Team

How to contact Facebook for problems with your account and other issues

If you dial any of the Palo Alto area phone numbers for the mega social media platform (they're 888-570-1595 and 888-481-3751, for the record), you'll get a recording. It will guide you through a series of menus, with each option directing you to send an email to an appropriate account. These include press@FB.com for media inquiries and records@FB.com for law enforcement concerns.

But if you hit 1 for customer service? The recording will instruct you to click on the word "Help," saying that "it's at the bottom of any Facebook page." Here's the thing: it's not. In fact, if you're on your main Facebook feed, there's no "bottom" of the page.

Here are some things you can do instead.

How to contact Facebook customer service

If you want to contact Facebook, you will first need to log into your account. On the desktop site, look up in the upper right corner of the screen. There, you will see a down arrow - click on it and select "Help and Support" from the dropdown menu. From there, you can select "Help Center," "Support Inbox," or "Report a problem."

Click “Report a problem” and another menu will appear presenting two clickable options: “Help us make the new Facebook better” and “Something went wrong”.

If you have a suggestion to make about a dysfunctional feature, select "Help us make the new Facebook better." Or, if you've encountered a problem with the site, choose "Something went wrong" to fill out a short form outlining your complaint. But for more general customer service inquiries, Facebook is pretty inscrutable.

How to contact Facebook through other social media platforms

Another way to try to connect with Facebook is to contact or mention them on another social media platform. You can send a direct message to Facebook via Twitter or use your Twitter account @Facebook in a Tweet you post. If you get enough traction, you'll likely be seen.

You can also reach out to Facebook through an Instagram direct message or by including your Facebook handle in a post, but unless you're getting a lot of likes, you're probably better off using the Facebook Help Center.

How to get email support

There are different Facebook email addresses that you can use to get help with different problems.

These are some of the most common email addresses. Please note that none of these addresses are customer service addresses; If you need help, please use Facebook's direct contact forms.

To report a scam or phishing attempt that mentions or involves Facebook, forward the message to phish@fb.com.[1]

If your account was disabled and you have already tried to recover it, try writing to disabled@fb.com.

If you have appealed Facebook's decision to disable your account and need to send more information to Facebook (such as an ID or other document), please send it to appeal@fb.com.

If you work with law enforcement, please write to legal@fb.com.

For press and media inquiries, please write to press@fb.com.[2]

Although contacting Mark Zuckerberg by email is unlikely to get a response, his known email addresses are MZuckerberg@fb.com or zuck@fb.com.[3]

How to contact Facebook by phone

Facebook doesn't provide phone support, so it's hard to get in touch with a living human.

The only known phone number for Meta, which includes Facebook, Instagram, and Oculus, is 888-570-1595. If you call that number and choose the support option, you'll hear a recording telling you that Facebook doesn't offer phone support.

If you work with law enforcement or need help with your business, developer, or advertising account, there are options on your phone's menu for assistance.

There are also phone menu options for marketing, press inquiries, and employment verification for current Facebook employees.

How to contact Facebook by live chat

Facebook is testing live chat support for some users.

While live chat isn't yet available to everyone, some English-speaking users in the United States now see the option to chat with a support representative if their accounts are locked.[4]

If you are a Facebook creator in the US, go to https://www.facebook.com/help/media. If chat support is available, you will find the option to chat with a representative on this page.

If you try to log into your locked Facebook account and chat support is available in your area, you'll be prompted to speak to a live support representative.
