I am trying to integrate facebook sdk 3.1.1, I am getting issue in authenticating , when I authorize the app in safari it says "Cannot open page" - "Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid" any guesses ?

I have the same situation. Currently considering a switch from IDServer. I start by launching a native facebook login, then passing the users token to the idserver. I guess this can be made the same with Auth0 either using the SDK or the Rest API. Not sure if they both support it. This way you can very simple get the behavior you are looking for.

We also are in desperate need for this feature from a UX perspective point of view. As @anthony.manning.fran already pointed out, the FB Login flow looses lots of its benefits when FB login has to be used this way.

Currently have a working web app with auth0 identity. I want to add social login FB, Google, Apple for the purposes of creating new account and logging into existing ones. The social account create process seems straight forward. My concern is should I create a way to leverage social login that will enable access to existing accounts in the event the email address is the same?

Is it acceptable or best practice that I only allow social login for new accounts being created using social login vs entering a password when creating an account? When an account has been created using a social login - should that user be able to self-service reset their password or are they restricted to using their social login? If they are not able to social login have they simply lost access to their account?

I tried to use the same email as my Facebook to reset my password but for some reason it doesn't work and keeps saying User not found. On my phone the email set up for my account is a bunch of number and @facebook.com.

Anyone here experiencing this, can you please create a new test profile (make sure your original profile window is closed) and login to Facebook using that profile, then close and reopen the browser and tell me if you stay logged in there?

Testing in a clean Brave Beta profile, logged into Facebook. Then quit, relaunched Brave Beta and was still logged in. Have noticed Facebook is checking vpn locations, using a vpn may affect FB logins

Another thing is I cannot login through the Shopify app because of the same problem but this time it gets to the do you want to continue page, I click continue then it just reloads that page. The only way I am able to log on to Shopify is via Google on my phone. I tried attaching videos but they where "exceeding the maximum file size "

I take it the above troubleshooting steps did not work for you? I'll be honest I haven't come across this issue before with external logins!

As you are using an external login it might be worth deactivating the Facebook login via your login workaround with Google Chrome that you mentioned - and if you have the username and password handy. Once deactivated you can try logging in normally again. Check out our help doc here on how you can disable this external login.

Another thing to check is that you have granted the necessary permissions to the external login service. Some login services, such as Google or Facebook, require that you grant certain permissions such as "email address" or "manage pages" before you can use them to log in to Shopify. Double-check that you have granted these permissions on the Facebook side of things.

Rest assured I will do my best to assist you with this! It's difficult to say exactly why you're unable to login without more information. If you could send us some screenshots of what you're seeing on your end, that would be really helpful. With that being said, in the meantime you can try the following troubleshooting steps below;

And when I try to login on via desktop it just keeps trying to redirect me to login via Facebook but I doesn't even get to that page just keeps trying to load it up and the URL changes for a second then reverts back to the "redirecting to Facebook" page.

If you have two-factor authentication set up on Facebook, you will receive a confirmation code to your phone or email when there is a login attempt on your account. If you did not recently try to log in, you can assume it was someone else.

You can also turn on login alerts by going to Settings > Account Center > Passwords and Security > Security Checkup > Turn on Login alerts on Facebook desktop. You can choose whether you want to receive a notification on Facebook or via email.

The best way to add a sign-in provider to an item is to save the login on your computer in a supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Brave). You can also edit a Login item on 1Password.com to add or remove a custom field for a sign-in provider.

Remembering your password across the hundreds of sites we interact with day to day can be hard. Especially if you follow best practices and have separate passwords for all of your accounts. You can make it easier on users who have memberships with your website by providing the ability to login using social accounts like Facebook and Google.

You may create and login into Harmony using your email or our social login integrations. In order to use social login, please ensure the email address you have associated with Harmony is the same email you have associated with your social login account.

For security purposes, if your Harmony account has an unconfirmed email address, your password will be reset the first time you log in using Facebook or Google. This means if you want to start using the email option again to log in, you'll need to reset your password. Social login options are available for all Harmony platforms including MyHarmony, Harmony Desktop, and Harmony App for Android and iOS. The social login option available will depend on the platform you choose.
