Description

The Stratasys Dimension Elite 3D Printer is a professional grade 3D printer. As all FDM printers, the printer heats filament and then uses it to print objects layer by layer. The Stratasys differs from the UP Box 3D printers in that it uses a soluble support material, and all filament is supplied by Stratasys in tamper-proof sealed cartridges.

Uses

Makes three dimensional plastic forms using ABS or PLA plastic filaments.

Filament

The Stratasys Dimension Elite 3d Printer uses 1.75mm ABS filament. This filament is stocked by the FabShop. Prints are charged at 40 cents per cm3 of material used.

Preparing a 3D file for printing

STL (STL files can be converted from other 3D model file types, such as OBJ or 3DS using Netfabb).

Ensuring that a file is printable is your responsibility. The getting your file ready to print page provides step-by-step instructions to take your file from your 3D modelling program to a printable error-free STL file with Netfabb Studio Basic software. This software is free to download and is installed on the FabShop computers.


Induction

The Stratasys Dimension Elite 3D Printer is technician operated equipment, and as such there is no induction available.
