The Thang:

Mosey around parking lot (500 meters), first 5 to arrive at "first base" grabbed 5 baseballs to bring back to starting point.

Each person took a turn at throwing the baseball in to both Funnel Ball Hoops (3 shoots). Depending on which shoot the ball came out of determined the reps (1st shot) and exercise (2nd shot). Any missed shots resulted in 10 Burpees and a reshoot.

The weather was comfortable at almost 40 degrees. Previous days crazy rain left puddles to be dodged and skipped over during the The Hard Mile Challenge.

The THANG: F3 version of The Hard Mile(notes below on Formal Hard Mile creator/ideation)

F3 PAX broke up into four groups. Started evenly around the bus loop in stations marked 1-4. The Bus loop consisted of total length of 528 feet per lap which would force 10 Laps around the bus loop totaling 5280 feet=1 Mile. All groups started at the sound of a whistle and had to execute as many laps as possible in 35 min.

Each singular lap required in order :

Totaling = 528ft per Lap!

…. Then on to LAP….2….3….4…5… etc.

There were no breaks and it was a Him against Himself mental/physical battle and grind. The Crew killed it ranging from 7.5-9.5 total laps. Top lap performances were talked about in COT !! @Suga' @Smoke led the way! Let’s Go!

Origination of The Hard Mile:

The brain child of entrepreneur and hybrid endurance athlete Eric Hinman— a five-time Iron Man competitor who is known for sharing his training and nutritional wisdom online— the world’s toughest mile is at simple as it is sinister. Simple in that it only consists of four laps of a 400m track. Sinister in that you’re only ‘allowed’ to run the final lap, the preceding three laps are made up of a combination of burpee broad jumps, walking lunges and bear crawls. Sounds grim.

Moleskin: 34 degrees, no wind. clear skies.  Went over the run route. @Suga' and @Meatloaf had already ran some distance before doing some training. @Grounds led a ruck route and left a little earlier so we missed him in the name-o. Runners passed Grounds on ruck back to the Amazon. Running north on thornwilde hill we saw a nice view of the sun rise that made it worth the challenge this morning!

Warm-O: Everyone came prepared and ready to run some hills.

The Thang: Can I Get a Hill? Yeah!

Pax ran 5.5-6 miles with the intention to “run for the hills”  in Thornwilde neighborhood. We re-grouped in the cul-de-sac in northcross and each pax Q’d merkins, plank jacks, jump squat, sit ups, and another exercise I can’t remember. We made it back with good timing and ran an extra .5 mile around the school parking lot. Well done!

Moleskin: Happy St. Paddy's Day from #the-amazon-! Like true Irishmen, the elements didn't keep us from getting our hard work done. A collection of my favorite fast-paced Irish tunes helped us get our reps in to the beat of the drums, fiddle, and pipes. We ended COT with a prayer from St. Patrick himself. Erin go bragh!

The morning air was crisp, but the competition was hotter. PAX rolled in ready to throw down in the first-ever Iron Sharpens Iron Triathlon. Lungs burned, muscles screamed, and strategies were tested as teams battled for glory across three brutal events. The energy was relentless, and no one held back. Rivalries were formed, friendships were strengthened, and at the end of it all, iron sharpened iron.

THANG – Meatloaf's 5k challenge.  We had four runners for the challenge. @Croft, @Mose, @Wallace, @Meatloaf@KOA and @Grounds rucked today.  The runners did a warmup mile with good conversation at a 9:58 pace.  Re-grouped back at Thornwilde elementary.  We started the 5k and ran out of Treetops and through Thornwilde for 3.1 miles.  Nice work by everyone, I was the last to finish but was able to beat my goal and run it in 26:30.  We all have some solid base times to try and beat during the running season.

Had about 15 minutes left after the 5k.  We met up with Grounds and Finisher and did a recovery walk for 10 minutes. Finished with a pushup waterfall and a round of big boy situps.  Apologies on the cadence for the big boy situps, think I'll stick to civilian count next time!

COT: Appreciation and gratitude for our health and our community.  Prayers for Grounds' wife and I was also very happy to announce that KOA's adoption went through.  Good coffee and good conversation around aging as well.

Cold morning, basketball court was wet with some slush/ice.  Roads didn't seem much better so we stuck on the court, the thang did not require a lot of quick movements.  No slips and no men ended up on their ass.

Music was a love mix from multiple genres, getting ready for Valentine's day.

Once we finished our 50 reps of one set, we did a lunge walk to half-court.  Stopping every 3 lunges to do 3 air squats.  Once at half court we did 3 burpees then lunge walked back to our coupons at the baseline.

Repeated the above for about 35 minutes.  Most got through the entire thing once and finished somewhere around Gravediggers/Merkins/Bicep Row.

THE THANG: Runners: Began at TES and ran to North Pointe Elementary. This was a 2.38 mile route. Every mile the front of the pack circled back to bring in the six, but they weren’t far Behind! At North Pointe Elementary we did a 9 minute TABATA style beatdown to some sick remixes of club music. Finishing with some Journey. We then began the run back to TES. Every mile the front of the pack circled back to pick up the six. We gathered together once more to tackle the hill up Tree Top Lane and ran triumphantly to the finish line to some motivational tunes on the JBL speaker I purchased. (I think I’ll keep it). I captured 4.91 miles on my Apple Watch. We had 5ish minutes left over because the PAX absolutely crushed the running pace. We finished with some Mary. Ruckers finished shortly after and we ran to catch up with them.

Named for Wilt Chamberlain’s NBA record 100-point game. The length of a basketball court. Line up and do 100 LBCs, then run to the other side and do 100 squats. Return to the first side to do 100 flutter kicks (each leg), and then finish at the other side with 100 lunges (50 each leg).

With windchill, it was around 8 degrees with a little sleet dropping on us. We gathered on street near school since everything was covered in 10+ inches of white pouda.

THE THANG:

We piled in the back of Zap's Gladiator Rubicon (aka Hector). 4 in cab, 4 in bed, and (2) on tailgate. We shoveled and salted the driveways and steps for (1) widow, (1) Pax who is admitted in hospital, and (1) elderly couple. Time exceeded and few stuck around for extra credit. We were able to help each other shovel our own driveways x 3. Suga' got stuck on the way to our BD. He shoveled himself out and (2) neighbor's driveways as well. Zap knocked out another neighbors driveway on his trek home. Without counting Pax's driveways, we shoveled 6 local driveways for people in need.
