FMS 297 Latin American and Latinx Media Theory

Welcome! Bienvenida!

Hello! This resource was created to help you with your bibliographic research in Professor Benamou's fall 2023 seminar: FMS 291 Latin American and Latinx Media Theory. You'll be including 3 sources for your research proposal and your paper will have at least 5 sources, and this course guide will point you to helpful resources and tools to find reputable, discipline-specific books, articles, and more.

A few quick links:

Connecting to library resources while off-campus

Remote access to the UCI Libraries' licensed online resources is available to current UC Irvine students, faculty & staff. In order to use these resources you must be "authenticated" (recognized as a valid user) by the UCI campus network. Click here for more info.

Did you know you can place holds on books AND request scans of book chapters and print articles?

I will cover this in the library presentation, but here are some screenshots on how to do this. 🙂

Does UCI Libraries not have what you need? TryInterlibrary Loan (ILL) Services

You can use this blank form or the "Get it at UC" button when you are in UC Library Search or library databases when we do not own, subscribe to, or have access to the article/book/dissertation you need. For rare materials and films, ILL is likely not an option but you can always consult me if you have questions! For more information: https://www.lib.uci.edu/interlibrary-loan.
