The App enables users to discover, connect to, and control Smart TVs over a local Wi-Fi network - replacing or supplementing a physical TV remote.
3. APP PERMISSIONS AND PURPOSE
To provide the core features of the App, we request specific permissions on your device. We are transparent about why these permissions are necessary:
1. android.permission.INTERNET: To connect to the internet. This is required for the App to communicate with your Smart TV over the same Wi-Fi network, display advertisements that support our free App, and check for app updates.
2. android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: To check your device's internet connection status when connecting to your TV, and to verify network availability before displaying advertisements.
3. android.permission.CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE: This permission is required to discover TVs and casting devices on your Wi-Fi network using SSDP/mDNS protocols. Without it, the app cannot find devices to control.
4. android.permission.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: To scan for Smart TVs and compatible devices that are connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone.
5. android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Enables sending notifications to users.
6. android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO: Used for the Voice Input feature - press the microphone button to capture your voice and send it directly to your TV for voice search. Disclaimer on Hardware Limitations: This feature depends entirely on your TV's and mobile device's hardware compatibility; not all Smart TVs support voice input functionality, and some devices may fail to receive the audio signal despite displaying a listening prompt. Voice data is transmitted locally over your Wi-Fi network. We do not store or send your voice data to our servers.

10. android.permission.ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION: For Advertising, to help measure the effectiveness of ad campaigns.
11. android.permission.ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID: For Advertising, to access the advertising-specific ID on your device.
12. android.permission.ACCESS_ADSERVICES_CUSTOM_AUDIENCE: For Advertising, allows for audience-based advertising while preserving user privacy.
13. android.permission.ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS: For Advertising, allows for interest-based advertising while preserving privacy.
14. android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE: Default app setting, not required to declare.
15. android.permission.CHANGE_WIFI_STATE: Used to manage your device's Wi-Fi connection state, ensuring your phone maintains a stable and continuous Wi-Fi connection to the same network as your TV throughout the remote control session.
