Slenderman made scary games popular. The aim is simple: collect clues and escape uninjured without laying eyes on the monster that stalks you. Eyes - The Horror Game continues this trend, but far from being a clone it adds its own spin to this dark game of cat and mouse.

The ghost leaves you clues, red eyes painted on the walls . If you see one of these, get out. Hear strange cries? Stay away as far away as possible, the traumatized specter is nearby. Do you see a sign that says "RUN!"? Then make like Usain Bolt: your enemy is very close.

The ghost herself is lifted directly from Japanese horror films: she is a woman (or part thereof), with dark hair, and haunting eyes. Nothing new, but I find this human form far scarier than any monster.

As a horror title, Eyes - The Horror Game is not in innovative game - but its setting, gameplay, and villain are be perfect for genre fans. Moreover, despite being free, it offers hours of play because the of the three difficulty levels and how the bags are constantly changing location.

Among the Sleep is the sort of atmospheric horror game that blurs the line between reality and imagination. How much of what you see is real? Is it just a nightmare? These questions tossed me into a twisted world, an unsettling dreamscape composed of bits and pieces of the real world.

When first opening the game, the music was calm but creepy, and it has a unsettling feeling to it that any good horror game should have. The overall feel of the game had me on the edge of my seat. When getting into the game, there was a bit of backstory of why I was going to collect 20 money bags, which I appreciated. I always love a good plot and backstory. However, I felt that 20 bags were a bit much. Maybe 10 or 15 would have been a bit more appropriate.

The style of a game reminded me of Slenderman in a few ways. Collecting objects while avoiding and escaping a monster is a common theme for horror games. Eyes, however, had many advantages that made it stand out. This is the first time I have seen money bags as an object the player can collect. Also, the graphics were lovely and the animations were very smooth. One of my favorite parts was how smooth the animations were, and how the controls were easy. There was only one button to use in order to move around, and the object were simple to collect. It was overall an enjoyable experience in that aspect.

I do not like to watch horror films. I never have. Perhaps I am way too visual a learner, but those images during the scary parts of the movies would stay in my head for days, haunting my dreams, turning them into nightmares. So I did (and still do) the only sensible thing at those moments of a movie. I close my eyes. And I try to convince myself to open my eyes. I tell myself, it is only a movie. I tell myself that what I imagine in my head about those moments is usually much worse than what will be depicted. I use any number of schemes to try and keep my eyes open. But to no avail. It is easier to close my eyes and wait for it all to be over.

I grew up watching all of the Hammer Films and Universal classics. The realms of the mind that are presented in stories in this genre are seeped in human conditions. The protagonist and hero are often woven together. The grey areas of the human condition are of interest to me. The danger factor is important. We can learn about ourselves in horror films. A splatter/gore film is weaker in the sense that the humanity is lost and the effect is more unsatisfying because (chase-kill-chase-kill) is more like a video game than a story. 2351a5e196
