What we do

Our comprehensive examination may include:

  • Refraction resulting in a glasses prescription
  • Contact lens assessment for hyperopia, myopia, astigmatism and presbyopia
  • Specialty contact lens evaluations for keratoconus and post-surgical irregular astigmatism
  • Neuro-ophthalmic evaluation of cranial nerves II, III, IV, VI
  • Keratometry
  • Dilated retinal examination
  • Binocular evaluation
  • Blood pressure
  • Visual fields
  • Evaluation of cataracts and co-management of cataract surgery
  • Color vision screening

Our retinal imaging system is the best way to view the back of the eye without a dilation. The images are stunning and useful for patient education and documentation of eye conditions.

We are independent doctors of Optometry and we have chosen to locate our practice inside of Visionworks because we feel Visionworks offers the right balance between value and luxury to fit everyone's needs. If you don't find what you like, don't worry. Our prescriptions are good anywhere you take them. Rest assured, we will give you our best advice on lens options. It can be overwhelming to pick out glasses. Let us make a recommendation for you based on your lifestyle, hobbies or work environment.

We have access to every hard and soft contact lens on the market. From myopia to keratoconus, we have your corneas covered. We provide boxes of contact lenses for sale and we have some of the lowest prices. Unlike some other clinics, we are happy to work with your vision insurance so you don't have to.

Leading organizations including the American Optometric Association agree that children should have their first eye exam between 6 months and one year old. If all is well, the second exam should occur before starting Kindergarten. Our doctors will only prescribe corrective eye wear when necessary for the healthy development of your child's eyes.

We pride ourselves on being one of the few eye clinics in Portland that provides low vision services. We offer a wide variety of low vision tools for our patients to use during their evaluation. Most major medical insurance, including Medicare, will cover the cost of a low vision evaluation.

Dr. Joseph Neron is our low vision specialist. He finds it to be very satisfying when he can help teach a visually impaired patient how to use a device that improves their activities of daily living and gives them back their independence. Please contact us if you or someone you know may benefit from low vision services.

**Please request Dr. Neron for your next low vision appointment.**
