In this era of science and technology, we do much damage to our eyes unknowingly in our daily life. We spend a lot of time using computers, which causes much strain to our eyes. Based on our observation and some estimates, computer workers have many bad habits during using computers, such as leaning the neck forward and less propensity to blink .These habits do damage to our eyes as well as cervical spine.
Currently, most great eye care software like F.lux focus on the screen display. They deal with blue light, color temperature, screen brightness and character size. This is an idea of adjusting computers based on how people use them. While our project goes into another road, that is, adjusting users according to what is proved health and correct, and providing personalized alerts to users based on their blink rate, distance of workstation and setup, etc. Also, information including character size and device screen information can be also combined to provide a more comprehensive alert for users.
With our Eye Guard desktop application, users can get alerts and blink rate on their screens in time, which remind them to keep a distance away from the screen and blink to refresh their eyes. Also, users can set personalized timers to remind themselves to leave the seat and have a rest. A typical situation may be like the following.
