This Privacy Policy explains how Eye Guard ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our application. Eye Guard is designed with a privacy-first, offline-first approach. Please read this policy carefully to understand our practices.
By downloading, installing, or using Eye Guard, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
## 1. Our Privacy Commitment
Eye Guard is built to work **entirely on your device**. We do not operate servers that collect, store, or process your personal data, camera images, or health statistics. All core functionality — screen distance detection, face detection, Kids Mode, and Health Stats — runs locally on your device using on-device processing only.
## 2. Information We Access
### 2.1 Camera Data
Eye Guard uses your device's **front-facing camera** to perform real-time, on-device face detection for the sole purpose of estimating your distance from the screen.
- Camera frames are processed **entirely on your device**, in real time.
- **No camera images, video, or facial data are ever saved, stored, uploaded, transmitted, or shared** with us or any third party.
- We do not use the camera for identity recognition, facial recognition storage, or any purpose other than distance estimation.
### 2.2 Health Stats & Usage Data
The App generates local statistics based on your usage, including:
- Session details (start/end times, duration)
- Distance breach history
- Daily, weekly, and monthly summaries
- Calibration and distance settings
This data is **stored locally on your device only**. If you use the export feature, exported files are saved to your device storage and shared only through the method you choose (e.g., email, file sharing) — we do not receive a copy.
### 2.3 Kids Mode Data
Kids Mode allows a parent or guardian to set a PIN and configure distance limits, alerts, and reward settings for a child user.
- The PIN and Kids Mode settings are stored **locally on your device** and are never transmitted to us.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Kids Mode is a parental control feature operated entirely by the device owner, on-device, without any data leaving the device.
### 2.4 Permissions
Eye Guard may request the following permissions, used strictly for the purposes below:
| Camera | On-device distance and face detection |
| Notifications | Eye break reminders and distance alerts |
| Foreground Service | Background distance monitoring while you use other apps |
We do not request access to contacts, location, microphone, SMS, or call data, and we do not use any permission for advertising or tracking purposes.
## 3. Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Camera images, video recordings, or facial biometric templates
- Precise or approximate location data
- Contacts, call logs, or SMS
- Personally identifiable information (name, email, phone number) unless you voluntarily provide it to us (e.g., contacting support)
- Advertising identifiers for behavioral tracking
## 4 Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:
| Google AdMob | Advertising | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google Firebase Analytics | Usage analytics | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reporting | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google Play Billing | Subscriptions/purchases | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.
## 5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
Because Eye Guard processes and stores data on-device, we do **not** sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data, camera data, or health statistics with third parties.
If future versions of the App integrate optional third-party services (e.g., crash reporting or analytics SDKs), this Privacy Policy will be updated in advance, and any such integration will be clearly disclosed along with the data it processes, consistent with Google Play's Data Safety requirements.
## 6. Children's Privacy
Eye Guard's Kids Mode is a **parental control feature**, intended to be configured and managed by a parent or guardian, not by the child independently. The App is not directed at children as its primary audience, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through Kids Mode or any other feature. All Kids Mode settings remain on-device and under the control of the parent/guardian who sets the PIN.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through any support channel, please contact us at the email below so we can address it.
## 7. Data Security
Since all sensitive processing (camera analysis) and storage (health stats, settings, PIN) happen locally on your device, your data benefits from your device's own security protections. We recommend keeping your device's operating system updated and using a secure device lock to protect locally stored data.
## 8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's features or legal requirements. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
