This Privacy Policy explains how the "I Stopped Copy-Pasting and Accidentally Became the Strongest Writer" Chrome extension (the "Extension") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
The Extension lets you use AI models like ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and Gemini directly inside Google Docs with simple slash commands (e.g., `/chatgpt`, `/deepseek`, `/gemini`). It supports Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) so you connect using your own API keys. It also helps manage clipboard content for smoother writing workflows.
We do not run any servers that process your documents, prompts, or generated content. Everything happens locally in your browser where possible.
We only handle the minimum data needed for the Extension to function:
Your API Keys (ChatGPT/OpenAI, DeepSeek, Gemini, etc.): You enter these yourself. They are stored **locally in your browser** using Chrome's secure storage (chrome.storage). They never leave your device and are not sent to us.
Temporary Clipboard Content: With your permission (via the `clipboardRead` permission), the Extension can capture text you copy (e.g., from ChatGPT tabs) to insert it easily into Google Docs.
User Preferences: Settings like custom instructions, preferred AI model defaults, or writing style preferences. These are also stored locally in your browser.
No Personal Data: We do not collect your name, email, IP address (beyond standard browser requests), location, or any other personally identifiable information.
The Extension does not store your Google Docs content, AI prompts, or generated text on any server.
API keys are used only to make direct requests from your browser to the respective AI providers (OpenAI, DeepSeek, Google, etc.).
Clipboard and preference data help provide a seamless experience (inserting text, remembering your style).
All processing stays within your browser and the authorized AI services you choose.
We do not sell, rent, or transfer your data to third parties for any marketing or unrelated purposes.
Your API keys and content are sent directly to the AI providers you select (e.g., OpenAI when using /chatgpt). This follows their own privacy policies — please review them separately.
No data is shared with us or any other parties except as required for the Extension's single purpose.
We comply with your certifications: no selling/transferring user data unrelated to the Extension's purpose, and no use for credit, lending, or similar activities.
Storage: To securely save your API keys, preferences, and temporary clipboard data locally in the browser.
Clipboard Read: To let you efficiently capture and insert copied content from other tabs (e.g., ChatGPT) into Google Docs without manual pasting.
Host Permissions (for Google Docs): To enable seamless interaction, content insertion, and slash command functionality inside `docs.google.com`.
These permissions are used only for the stated features.
API keys and settings stay in your browser's local storage.
We use no remote code or external servers for data handling.
You can clear all data at any time by uninstalling the Extension or clearing your browser's extension storage.
Access & Control: You can view, edit, or delete your stored API keys and preferences directly in the Extension's settings.
Deletion: Uninstalling the Extension removes all locally stored data.
We may update this policy occasionally. We will post the new version here with an updated Last Updated date. Continued use of the Extension after changes means you accept the updates.
