Vascular artifact reduction

QC:

· provide an overview of present and processed files, as well as files that were not imported or not processed;

· automatic QC by comparing individual images with the population average. Images differing more than 2-3 SD from the mean should be visually inspected;

· checks the DICOM values of TR, TE and scale slopes across individuals for a single scanner. Deviations in protocol can hint to, e.g. software updates, or different scanners, and can lead to unwanted variance in the statistical analyses;

· checks the average and individual T1-ASL registration;

· provide motion statistics, highlighting whether there are subjects that have significant amount of head motion compared with the rest of the population;

· provides the orientation matrix determinant which can be used to detect potential left right flips (that may have occurred by the use of third-party software, or combination of images from ExploreASL and other software)
