ExpiryGuard follows a Zero-Cloud philosophy. All of your documents, reminders, and personal information remain securely stored on your Android device. We do not upload, collect, or store your information on external servers.

Whether you're managing passports, visas, residence permits, driving licences, insurance cards, or other important documents, your data stays private and under your control.

ExpiryGuard does not collect or transmit any personal information.

No user account is required to use ExpiryGuard.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

All of this information is stored only within the application's private storage on your Android device.

3. Permissions We Request

ExpiryGuard requests only the permissions necessary to provide its core features.

📷 Camera

Used to scan documents with AI-powered OCR and optionally capture document photos.

🖼 Photos and Media

Allows you to attach existing document images stored on your device.

🔔 Notifications

Used to remind you before your documents expire according to your reminder schedule.

🔐 Biometric Authentication

Used to unlock the app securely using your device's fingerprint or facial recognition.

📅 Calendar (Optional)

Used only when you choose to add document reminders to your personal calendar.

No permission is used for advertising or tracking purposes.

4. AI OCR Processing

ExpiryGuard uses Google ML Kit Text Recognition to automatically detect expiry dates from document images.

All OCR processing happens entirely on your device.

Document images are never uploaded to Google or any external server.

5. Data Security

Your information is protected using Android's built-in security features.

ExpiryGuard supports:

• Local-only storage

• Android private app storage

• Biometric authentication

• Offline operation

• No cloud synchronization

Because your data never leaves your device, you remain in full control of your personal information.

6. Third-Party Services

ExpiryGuard uses only the following Google services:

• Google ML Kit (On-device OCR)

• Google Play Billing (Premium purchase)

These services are used solely to provide app functionality.

ExpiryGuard does not use:

• Google Analytics

• Firebase Analytics

• Advertising SDKs

• Tracking SDKs

• Cloud databases

• Third-party advertising networks

7. Children's Privacy

ExpiryGuard does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Since all information remains on the user's device and is never transmitted to us, we do not have access to any user data regardless of age.
