Expense Khata is an offline, personal expense-tracking application. All expense records you create — including titles, amounts, categories, and dates — are stored locally on your device only, using an on-device database (Room/SQLite). We do not operate a server, and the App does not transmit, upload, sync, or share your expense data with us, or with any third party, at any time.
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect, store, or have access to any personal data entered into the App.
Specifically:
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.
We do not collect the expense entries, categories, amounts, or notes you create — this data exists only in local storage on your own device.
We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking libraries within the App.
The App does not require account creation, sign-in, or authentication of any kind.
The App does not request Internet access permission and cannot transmit data off your device.
Expense Khata requests only the minimum device permissions necessary for core functionality (such as local storage access for backup/restore of your data, where applicable). No permission is used to collect data for our benefit — all permissions serve only to let the App function on your device.
4. Data Storage and Security
All data you enter into Expense Khata is stored exclusively in a local database on your device. This data:
Is never transmitted to us or any external server.
Is never shared with third parties, advertisers, or analytics providers.
Can be permanently deleted by uninstalling the App or clearing the App's data/storage through your device settings.
Since we do not receive or store your data on any server, we do not have the ability to access, recover, or restore your data if it is lost, deleted, or if your device is damaged, lost, or reset. We encourage you to use your device's built-in backup features if you wish to preserve your data.
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share any user data with third parties, because we do not collect or have access to any user data in the first place. The App does not integrate any third-party advertising networks or data-broker SDKs.
Expense Khata does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction), because the App does not collect data at all. The App is suitable for general audiences.
7. Your Rights and Control Over Your Data
Because all data remains on your device:
You have full control over your data at all times.
You may delete individual expense entries within the App.
You may permanently erase all App data by uninstalling the App or clearing its storage via your device's Settings > Apps menu.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or for legal and regulatory reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
