Support — Expense & Budget Tracker App
Contact: md.goaltech@gmail.com — we answer within two working days.
Developer: Afex Digitals. App: Expense & Budget Tracker App for iPhone and iPad
(bundle com.expensemanager.expensetracker.app).
When you write in, telling us your iOS version and the app version (More › Version)
saves a round trip.
Getting started
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no email address, no password and no social login. Open the app
and start logging. The app quietly creates an anonymous account so your records have
somewhere to live; you never see it and you never log in.
Does it connect to my bank?
No. Nothing is linked, imported or synced from a bank. Every figure in the app is one you
entered, scanned or spoke.
Where do I add an expense?
The + button in the middle of the bottom bar. You get three ways in: scan a receipt
with the camera, choose a receipt photo you already have, or type it in manually.
Receipt scanning
How does it work?
Tap + › Scan a receipt, photograph the receipt, and the total, the date, the shop
and a category come back filled in on the transaction form. Nothing is saved until you
press save, so check every field first — especially the amount.
It read the wrong number.
Just correct it on the form before saving. The scanner is told to use the printed grand
total rather than a subtotal or a line item, but a crumpled, faded or partly cut-off
receipt can still be misread. Nothing is ever guessed: a field it could not read comes back
blank rather than filled with something invented.
It said it could not read the receipt.
The photo is still attached to the transaction and you can type the amount in yourself. If
it keeps happening: flatten the receipt, get the whole thing in frame, and make sure the
total is not in shadow.
Where are my receipt photos kept?
On your device, in the app's own storage, and they are listed under More › Receipts.
They are not uploaded to our servers and they do not transfer to a new phone. If you delete
the app, the photos go with it — the transactions themselves stay in your account.
Can I delete one photo without deleting the transaction?
Yes — open it in More › Receipts and delete it there. Deleting a transaction removes
its photo too.
Do I have to use the camera?
No. Choose Enter manually and type the amount. The camera permission is only ever
requested at the moment you first choose to scan.
Voice entry
Hold the microphone button and say what you spent — "twelve fifty on coffee". Your speech
is turned into text by iOS on your device, and that text is used to fill in the amount,
category and note. Review it and save. If the microphone button does nothing, check
iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone and › Speech Recognition for this
app.
Budgets, goals, lists and subscriptions
Budgets — one limit per category, weekly or monthly. The ring shows how much of the
limit the current period has used, and tapping a budget shows the transactions behind it.
Savings goals — set a target, add to it whenever you like, and give it a deadline if it
needs one.
Shopping list — under Grocery on the home screen. Add what you need to buy, tick
items off, and set a grocery budget to see what the list is costing.
Subscriptions — record what renews, when and for how much, and the screen totals it up
per month. Note that this is a tracker: the app shows you renewal dates, it does not
send you push reminders.
Statistics
Stats on the home screen shows where the money went by category, your spending trend,
and week / month / year views with a daily average. On the free plan the statistics screen
covers the last 30 days; Premium charts your whole history.
Finance coach
Ask about your own figures in ordinary language — "what did I spend most on last month?" —
and the answer is based on what you have logged. Your question and the figures needed to
answer it are sent to Google Gemini at that moment. The conversation is kept in your
account so it is still there next time.
Currency
More › Currency, then search and pick. The app uses one currency throughout and every
screen follows it immediately. Amounts you already logged keep their numbers — changing the
currency changes the symbol, it does not convert anything, so if you are switching currency
for good it is cleanest to start from a fresh set of records.
Exporting your data
More › Export data. It writes every transaction — not just what is on screen — to a
CSV file and hands it to the iOS share sheet, so you can mail it to yourself or save it to
Files. The columns are date, type, amount, currency, description, payment method and
category id, with amounts unformatted so a spreadsheet reads them as numbers.
Premium
What Premium unlocks:
| | Free | Premium |
|---|---|---|
| Budgets | 3 | No limit |
| Savings goals | 1 | No limit |
| Tracked subscriptions | 3 | No limit |
| Statistics history | Last 30 days | Everything you have logged |
The three purchases: Weekly (renews every week), Yearly (renews every year) and
Lifetime (one payment, nothing renews). The price for your country is shown on the Premium
screen before you buy, and it comes from the App Store rather than from us.
How do I buy? More › Go Premium, or any lock icon in the app.
How do I cancel? A subscription is managed by Apple, not by us:
iOS Settings › tap your name › Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the
period ends, or it renews. Lifetime is a one-off purchase — there is nothing to cancel.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us: reportaproblem.apple.com.
I bought Premium and it is not showing.
Tap More › Restore purchases (it is also on the Premium screen). Make sure you are
signed in to the same Apple ID that made the purchase, and that you have a working
connection. If a restore finds nothing, the purchase was probably made on a different Apple
ID.
I reinstalled the app and Premium is gone.
Restore purchases brings it back. All three products, including Lifetime, are restorable.
The Premium screen shows no prices.
That is the App Store not answering — usually no connection, or a temporary store outage.
Pull to retry a moment later. The app will never show you a made-up price.
Data and privacy
What do you store? The records you type in, in an anonymous account on our cloud
database. Receipt photos stay on your device. No advertising, no analytics and no crash
reporting are in this version. Full detail: the privacy policy linked in More › Privacy
policy.
How do I delete everything?
You can delete any transaction, budget, goal, list item, subscription or receipt inside the
app, and deleting the app removes the receipt photos, your saved preferences and the
anonymous session. There is no one-tap "delete account" button yet. If you want the
account and every row in it erased from the database, email md.goaltech@gmail.com
before you delete the app — once the app is gone there is no way left to identify which
anonymous account was yours.
Something is wrong
The app opens on a spinner or says it cannot reach the server.
The records live in your account, so the app needs a connection to load them. Check the
connection and pull down to refresh.
I lost my data after changing phone.
The account is anonymous and lives in the app's session on one device, so it does not
transfer. Export to CSV before you move, and tell us if this has already happened to you —
write to md.goaltech@gmail.com and we will see what we can do.
Anything else: md.goaltech@gmail.com. A screenshot and the app version from
More › Version get it fixed fastest.
