Stella Kaufman

Stella Kaufman

2nd Chancellor of Valkyria

Serving since 2019

A member of the Conservative Party, Stella Kaufman is most experienced when it comes to security policy. Before 2017, she served as an official in the Intelligence Directorate-General and was posted in countries such as Erinor and Ryccia. While most of her work in the IDG is classified, what is public knowledge is that she worked with the intelligence agencies of other countries in the interest of strengthening the bilateral relationship that they had with Qvait and later Valkyria.

In 2017, Kaufman made the decision to become a public official by campaigning for a seat in Parliament in Foxcoast's 1st constituency. Elected in the third round, Conservative leader Jonathan Victor named Kaufman as the Shadow Secretary of Intelligence because of her extensive knowledge in the field. Opposite to Intelligence Secretary Jonathan Wade, Kaufman had repeatedly called for increasing the powers of the security services of Valkyria.

Although she greatly respected Jonathan Victor, who was a former President of Qvait, Kaufman decided to initiate a leadership challenge against him in late 2018 because she believed that the Conservative Party needed a new message and tone if the party were to succeed in the 2019 general election. In the aftermath of her victory in the leadership election, Kaufman worked with Opposition Leader Nicole Chancellor to form the New Conservative Coalition, an opposing bloc to the Alliance of Social Democrats.

In the general election, Kaufman led the Conservatives to become the largest party in Parliament and worked to build a coalition that included The New Right and the Centrist Democratic Party. One month after the election, Kaufman successfully negotiated a coalition government that outnumbered the Alliance and took office as the second Chancellor of the Valkyrian Republic, succeeding Margaret Harrison, who had been serving in that role since the country's founding in 2016.
