    Fanaa is a Hindi romantic thriller film that was released in 2006. The film stars Aamir Khan and Kajol in the lead roles, with Rishi Kapoor, Kirron Kher, Tabu and Sharat Saxena in supporting roles. The film was directed by Kunal Kohli and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. The film's title is derived from the Islamic Sufi term "fanaa", meaning "destroyed" in Arabic, Persian, Urdu, and Hindi. The film was promoted with the tagline "Destroyed In Love...".

    The film tells the story of Zooni Ali Beg (Kajol), a blind Kashmiri woman who travels to New Delhi for the first time to perform in a ceremony for Republic Day. There she meets Rehan Khan (Aamir Khan), a tour guide and a flirtatious man who falls in love with her. Zooni decides to ignore her friends' warnings and follow her heart. She undergoes an eye surgery that restores her vision and discovers life and love in a new way. However, she also learns that Rehan has another side to his life - he is a Kashmiri insurgent and the mastermind behind a series of terrorist attacks. Zooni is devastated by this revelation and has to make a choice between love and duty.
