The state of Andhra Pradesh holds an annual Common Entrance Test CAT Exam 2020 for the stream of Engineering at the Postgraduate Level. This exam is called the AP PGECET or the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering entrance exam 2020 .

About the AP PGECET this exam can give you a chance to get entry into PG courses in various colleges across the state of Andhra Pradesh. The courses that you can get entry into are PG in Engineering, Pharmacy, Technology, and Planning (ME, M. Pharmacy/Graduate level Pharmacy-D (Post Baccalaureate), and M. Tech. The conducting body of the exam is the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education through the Andhra University. Since the exam seeks to filter the best of students, only meritorious ranking based entries gets entertained. The exam takes place generally in the 1st week of March.
1. Application Form
Registration for this exam can only be done in the online mode when the application forms get released around the 3rd week of March on the official website. The deadline to fill these forms is the last week of April. To ensure successful registration, you must attach all the necessary documents asked for by the authorities. Just in case you make a mistake while filling your form, you will be granted a correction window around the 2nd week of April. The application fee should get paid along with the form in the online mode only. You can make your payment via net transfer or debit or credit cards. The fee structure of the application fee is as such: Rs. 1000/- for General/OC/BC aspirants and Rs. 500/- for the SC/ST category aspirants. After you have registered, you will be issued your Admit Card by the 1st week of May, which you must carry to the exam.
1. Eligibility Criteria
• Applying for the exam, you must ensure that you fit into the eligibility criteria laid down by the exam conducting body to be able to attempt it.
• The exam is open to only Indian citizens.
• The aspirant must hold a domicile of the state of Andhra Pradesh or must fulfill the requirements of local or non- local status as set forth by the authorities.
• The aspirants should have qualified their B. Tech or B. Pharmacy or any other equivalent and valid exam from a recognized board.
• The aspirants must have secured a minimum score of 50% (General Category) and 45% (Reserved Category) in their Bachelor’s Degree.
• If you are applying through the AP PGECET, you must preserve your scorecard to show during the process of entry, or your scorecards of GATE or GPAT.
1. Exam Pattern
• AP PGECET will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) to be attempted online by the aspirant. The Test will consist of 120 Multiple-choice Questions to get attempted in 2 hours. The exam will be conducted only in English and will be for the maximum marks of 120. While each correct answer will award you a positive one mark, there will be no negative marking even in case of a wrong answer.

• Know about the syllabus and scope of questions to be expected to be asked in the exam; you should check the official website. Since the subjects and syllabus varies according to the course you opt for, checking the syllabus according to your chosen subject will give you a better idea. However, here is a short overview:

• Results of the exam get announced on the official website, which the aspirants can access by entering their credentials available on their Admit Card. The results get announced by the 3rd week of June.

Ans. Yes, you may apply for more than one course in your application form.
2.) Is the exam compulsory even if I have already attempted the GMAT 2020 Exam ?
Ans. No, if you’ve already attempted the GMAT 2020 Exam and preserved your scorecard, this exam is not compulsory, but you may attempt it if you wish to.
3.) How much will I have to score to qualify?
Ans 25% that is 30/120 for General Category and no qualifying marks for the Reserved category.
