All in the Mind: Part 2

(Intro)

Last scene of episode 1.

Lexi:(Scared, confused) The Rani? Who? What?

Doctor:(disbelief) It can't be.

Ethan is on the floor still in pain.

Doctor: I thought I stopped her.

Ethan screams in pain. He then looks blank. He punches the Doctor in the face. 

Doctor: Ahh

Ethan stands up in a hurry. So does the Doctor.

Doctor:(nervous) Sargent Turner.

Ethan gets out his gun. The Doctor gets out of the way before Ethan shoots his gun. Ethan turns to face the Doctor and starts slowly walking towards him.

Doctor: Sargent Turner, listen.

Shot of Ethan walking towards the Doctor and Lexi looks scared in the background.

Doctor: Ethan, this isn't you. She's messing with your head.

Ethans points his gun at the Doctor. The Doctor looks next to him and sees a metal plate. He picks it up and when Ethan shots it, it bounces off and shots the window, smashing it. Ethan turns his head quickly. He looks back at the Doctor and shots him. The Doctor falls onto the ground.

Lexi: DOCTOR!

Ethan walks out the door and out of the driveway.

Lexi:(panic) Oh my gosh. Abby! ABBY!

Abby walks in.

Abby:(Shocked) Oh my goodness, what happened?

Lexi: The Sargent shot him.

Abby: I’ll go call an ambulance.

Doctor: (weak) No don’t! Please d…

The Doctor goes unconscious. 

Lexi: Crap!

Abby: I’m gonna call an ambulance!

Lexi: Abby, I don’t think we should!

Abby: Why?

Lexi: The Doctor and Sargent Turner told us not too. Besides, I don’t think he’s human.

The Doctor is on the ground lifeless. He breathes out regeneration energy. 

[Scene 2]

Ethan is walking. He touches his temples and hears a voice.

Rani voice: Go to UNIT, get into the secret vault. Once my plans complete, we will be unstoppable. (Evil laughs).

Ethan: Yes mistress.

Ethan removes his hands from his temples and starts walking.

[Scene 3]

Abby pours hot water into a coffee mug. She mixes it with a spoon and then passes it to Lexi.

Lexi: Thanks.

Abby takes the other one which was sitting next to the one she gave Lexi. They leave the kitchen.

The camera moves from a view of the doctors face (Who is lying in bed in pajamas to Lexi and Abby walking in. They stop and then lean against the door frame/wall (whatever is easiest while filming) They look down at the doctor in worry.

Abby: Do you think he’s going to be ok?

Lexi: I don’t know. Sargent Turner seemed to have all the answers. I wish he was still here.

Abby: Yeah. Anyway, how’s your mum doing?

Lexi: What? I mean yeah, she’s doing ok. She had a bit of a hard time dealing with my brother this week, because of his ADHD, so I might ask her if he wants to stay over here again to give her a bit of a break.

Abby: That would be good. I hope your brother doesn’t mind the Doctor using his bed and pajamas while he is gone.

Lexi: Haha yeah. I’m sure he won't. Anyway, How’s your UCOL course going?

Abby: Yeah, it's going great, how's yours?

Lexi: Good actually. I’ve nearly finished my fifth assignment so that's good.

Abby: Nice. What is it you are studying again?

Lexi: Graphic design.

Abby: Oh yeah, that's right!

Abby and Lexi both laugh together for a bit.

Lexi:(worried) I hope the Doctor wakes up soon. I’m getting really worried.

Abby nods in agreement.

Abby: Oops, sorry Lexi, I gotta get going. I have to study for a test tomorrow.

Lexi: Oh yeah, all good. See you tomorrow after course then?

Abby: Yep, see ya.

Lexi: Bye.

Abby walks out of the room.

Lexi looks down at the Doctor in worry.

[Scene 4]

We see a shot of Ethan walking towards the UNIT building.

We follow Ethan as he walks into the building, past reception, and through various rooms and corridors. Ethan walks up to a door marked “Authorised Personnel Only” with a UNIT guard in front.

Guard: Excuse me, you are not authorised to be he-

Ethan grabs the guard and puts his fingers on the guard's temples. Closeup on the guard as his eyes go blank, slumping to the floor. Shot from inside the room as Ethan opens the door. Cut to see various references to previous doctor who adventures involving UNIT and the Tardis at the end of the room. We see from security footage, Ethan walking up to the Tardis before fizzling out, we hear the Tardis sounding out.

[Scene 5]

Extreme close up on the Doctor’s face slowly zooming in. (TARDIS noise) The Doctor's eyes open.

Doctor: Where’s Sargent Turner?

Lexi: Doctor! You're awake!

The Doctor gets out of bed in a hurry.

Lexi: Doctor, are you ok? (walking over to the Doctor)

Doctor: Where is Sargent Turner?

Lexi: I don’t know? He shot you then left the house.

Doctor: Oh.

TARDIS noise. He puts his head down quickly like he is in pain but he doesn't make a sound.

Doctor: I know where he is!

Lexi goes to the Doctor.

Lexi: Where?

Doctor: At UNIT! We need to go! I don’t know what the Rani’s plan is, but whatever it is, it's bad.

The Doctor grabs a nearby dressing gown and puts it on. He goes over to his jacket and takes the sonic screwdriver out and holds it (not pointing it). Lexi is standing behind the Doctor.

Doctor: Right!

Close up shot on the Doctor.

Doctor: Let’s do this!

The Doctor gives a half smile then walks forward toward the camera.

[Scene 6]

Ethan is looking down at the machine. (outside TARDIS)

Ethan: The machine is done mistress.

Rani:(voice) Very good.

Ethan slowly walks towards it.

Doctor: NOW WAIT, HOLD ON A MINUTE!

Ethan turns around quickly and sees the Doctor standing there with Lexi standing behind him.

Ethan: Doctor!

The Doctor and Lexi start walking towards him. The Doctor raises his sonic screwdriver.

Doctor: Get out of Sargent Turners mind right now!

Ethan: It’s too late Doctor. That won’t save Sargent Turner's life! He’s just a weak human. That's why I need to get out of him. I only used him to get into UNIT. A few of the TARDIS’s circuits and some of this old UNIT junk and I can break out and steal all of your lives.

Doctor: I COMMAND YOU LEAVE ETHAN NOW!

Ethan: NO! It's not time! The disease will beat me if I leave now.

Doctor: Ha, too bad.

The Doctor points his sonic over at the machine.

Ethan: NOOOOO!!!!

Ethans eyes start to roll back as he falls to the ground. Lexi runs to Ethan lying on the ground to check if he’s ok. The rani appears in the flesh.

Doctor: There you are.

Rani: Doctor! It wasn’t time. This disease is gonna…. Gaaa

She grabs her stomach in pain.

Rani: Kill me… 

Doctor: Yes I know. But you can't take people's bodies. Now enough about that, how did you survive my regeneration, it should have flushed you out!

Rani: While you were regenerating, I stole just a little amount. Just enough for me to hold on to life. It was painful, but it still worked!

Doctor: Stealing bodies and people’s regeneration cycles. You're starting to turn into the master.

Rani: The Master was weak! You saw how easily I got rid of him!

Doctor: Ok, but if you're so powerful then why don’t you just take my lives now, rather than waiting?

Rani: You're not ready yet! That's why I needed Sargent Turner for longer, and then once he died, you would be ready. Ready for me to enter again and take it all.

Doctor: What do you mean, I'm not “ready”?

Rani: You're still in the first 15 hours of your regeneration cycle. If I try to take you over now, then you’ll just regenerate again, causing me to nearly fade away again. The mind strategy didn't work. But I’m sure my new plan will… 

Doctor: What new plan?

Rani: Oh you will see Doctor… And it will be spectacular. Ahhh

She grabs her stomach again in pain.

Doctor: Ok, but that still doesn’t explain how you traveled from my mind to Sargent Turners mind?

Rani: Oh that was simple. When Sargent Turner used your sonic screwdriver (flashback sequence to when Ethan did that) I traveled from your mind to his mind. Your sonic screwdriver can send off a strong enough signal to create a neural pathway to have me travel to Sargent Turner's brain. However, it isn’t strong enough to allow me to re-materialize.

The Rani looks at her hand. Regeneration energy is coming out of it.

Rani: NO! TOLD YOU I WASN’T READY! NOW I’M GOING TO WAIST ANOTHER REGENERATION! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT DOCTOR!

Her other hand starts glowing, so does her head.

Rani: Noooo, noooooooo!!!!!!!!

Regeneration energy bursts out of her head and hands. The Doctor shields his eyes. He looks over the others.

Doctor:(shouts) GET OUT OF HERE!

Lexi:(shouts) BUT THE SARGENT!?

Doctor:(shouts) TAKE HIM TO THE SICK BAY, JUST GO!

Lexi grabs Ethan. The Doctor looks back at the Rani. We see her face slowly morph into the next incarnation.

Rani: (screams)

The regeneration energy stops and she falls to the ground. Her eyes open and she slowly stands up looking at her hands.

Rani: What have you done?

The doctor is silent.

Rani: You imbecile! You have no idea the gravity of the situation!

Doctor: I-

Rani: Don’t even try to act like you have any idea what’s going on! No spiel about how you know what I’m going to do next, no monologue about the consequences of my actions. You are stepping on fragile ground, and let me tell you Doctor, it’s about to break.

Flashes of light. The Doctor shields his eyes. The Rani starts laughing. The TARDIS noise starts. The Rani’s TARDIS slowly meterializes around her as she is still laughing. The TARDIS then dematerialized with her in it. The Doctor looks onwards in fear.
