The Steampunk Conundrum

Written By James Peaty

Adapted  By Isaac Travers

San Francisco 1896, several men are unloading massive crates ready to be sent out to multiple places across the town. Mr. Meredith, the Dock marshal checks through everything including

Mr Meredith

Well, that should be the last of them. It took my men Quite a while to get everything sorted

Professor Hadleigh Schwartz

And was everything delivered?

Mr Meredith

As we agreed, sir.

Professor Hadleigh Schwartz

Excellent I'm assuming that you find gentlemen here for the bonus I promised.

Thomas Larsson

Well, we ain't here for nothing.

Professor Hadleigh Schwartz

Well then, may I allow myself to present it to you?

Schwartz reaches over to one of the crates and opens it up. Inside is a robotic figure with glowing red eyes that slowly moves forward towards the workmen.

Mr Meredith

Good Lord, that's something I've never seen before.

Professor Hadleigh Schwartz

What's the matter Mr. Meredith? not the bonus you were expecting.

Thomas Larsson

What the hell is this?

Professor Hadleigh Schwartz

By this point on what you have no further use, Your work is done, now  kill them.

The robot figure continues to walk forward towards the men all of them frightened out of their skins

Thomas Larsson

Keep it away I said keep it away from us

Mr Meredith

You're insane, Mr. Schwartz

Professor Hadleigh Schwartz

Don't you worry, Meredith this won't hurt even a bit

Mr Meredith

No, please ahhhhh

At that moment, Mr. Meredith and his men are brutally slaughtered by the mechanical machine leaving them for dead,However, Thomas makes a run with it and jumps onto one of the Carriages and rides off with it. stealing one of the crates.

Professor Hadleigh Schwartz

What do you think you're doing?

Thomas Larsson

You start taking my friends and I take one of your own mechanical machines.

Professor Hadleigh Schwartz

What do you think you're doing standing there? Get after him

Proto-form robot

Yes my leader

The Battle Drone starts chasing the carriage across the town, Thomas makes a sharp turn and hides the cart within a secret tunnel underneath a large mansion.

Professor Hadleigh Schwartz

Any sign of the traitor?

Proto-form robot

Scanning, No lifesigns detected.

Professor Hadleigh Schwartz

Report back to me immediately we have quite a lot to do

Thomas watches from above his mansion as the Proto-form Turns back and walks away from the house.

Thomas Larsson

Goodness me that was a close one, well that they're not here. I better get you out of that crate.

Thomas then grabs a crowbar and Brakes opens the crate only to find another one of the robots inside.

Thomas Larsson

What would you look at that, You look absolutely fantastic. Maybe with a few repairs you might come in handy to help me out To do some good and even maybe put an end to all this. But you hold still, buddy this may hurt a little bit.

And with that, Thomas grabs a few tools from his toolbox and does a few repairs onto the Drone, Hoping that maybe a good robot could help in this dire situation.

INTRO

The Tardis starts to materialise close to the harbor of where all the ships are aligned. The Doctor along with his companion Sally Griffth walk out from the blue box, with them dawning Appropriate attire for the late 19th century

Doctor

Here we are Miss Sally, San Francisco or as I like to call it the Paris of the west. Rather exciting isn't it?

Sally

You could say that, but I'd appreciate it if I wasn't dressed like this.

Doctor

Well, we can't go walking about in a T-shirt and jeans, we would be too suspicious.

Sally

I perfectly understand that, but I really wish I wasn't dressed as

Doctor

A dalek?

Sally

I was going to say an idiot.

Doctor

I have no idea why the tardis wardrobe had that dress for you, Either way, it won't be too distracting.

Sally

Says the man in the bowler hat!

Doctor

What can I say? It's a good hat.

Sally

Even when most of the people in this town are legitimately wearing top hats, ain't that the truth.

Doctor

Oh, everyone's a critic these days.

Sally

So what are we even doing here, doctor?

Doctor

Simply soaking up the atmosphere and even looking for trouble, that's what I casually do.

Sally

It's not something I usually would do normally.

Doctor

Now Sally, I know this is very different for you, but I do suggest if you are going to travel with me, you may need to follow a few quick rules if we're going to continue travelling.

Sally

Ok? I wasn't sure if you were a rules person.

Doctor

Luckily for me, I only have three key ones. Number one, I'm in charge. number two, no silly nicknames like Doc or Professor. Just the doctor will do and number three, Just have fun.

Sally

Now that was simple.

As The Doctor and Sally Carry on strolling, the doctor makes a quick halt to give Sally A quick bit of observation

Doctor

Excellent now that we got that cleared up time for a question to answer to you. Have you noticed anything different since we walked out of the tardis?

Sally

Well, obviously Everyone's just going about their day as per usual, nothing too substantial

Doctor

So the question is exactly what is going on and this time, take a closer look?

The two then find mechanical robots walking alongside people within the streets of San Francisco something that would never occur in the 19th century.

Sally

Oh my god, robots in San Francisco in the 19th century. This can’t be real.

Doctor

It sure is Miss Sally

Sally

And you knew about this.

Doctor

Exactly, and that's the best part of doing all of this. When there is a problem, we figure out what is going on and we solve it.

Sally

Whatever floats your boat.

Doctor

What I've gathered, it appears the psychic paper must've given me a message of sorts.

Sally

What is that doctor?

Doctor

You could say it's my clever way of getting into places, but sometimes it even comes up with special writing, most notably space-time coordinates.

Sally

So like a homing beacon.

Doctor

Bleeding out across the cosmos leading us to this exact address.

Sally

But what would these robots be doing here?

Doctor

Not entirely sure, but first let's find out who they are, come along this way.

The Doctor and Sally start to walk over to a fancy mansion owned by Thomas Larsson, the two make their way to the front door hoping to find answers.

Sally

Are you sure this is the right place?

Doctor

Most notably for sure, we should try to be polite just in case one of those robots greets us both.

The Doctor rings the doorbell as the door opens, They are greeted by one of the androids whose marking says Alfred on his chest. This is the same robot that Thomas had collected and reprogrammed.

Alfred

Greetings, my dear guests, My master at the moment is in his study and wishes not to be disturbed.

Doctor

Oh, don't Worry about us, Mr. Alfred my name is inspector Smith. This here is my assistant Miss Griffith.

Sally

Hello.

Alfred

Give must be the Pinkerton detectives

Doctor

Precisely so here on a mission and sorting things out, We just had to do some high-level……

Sally

Detecting

Doctor

What she said, I believe your master is a Mr. Thomas Larsson of all things.

Alfred

That is correct, sir. My master at the moment is in his office but I will lead you to him if you would like. Come right this way

Doctor

That would be more than excellent of you, Alfred

The doctor and Sally are greeted into the mansion as they look around for clues, Alfred helps guide the way to Thomas Larsson's office.

Sally
This place sure looks rather fancy

Doctor
I sure would say that, Let's hope that Mr. Larsson is somewhat approachable in a way.

Alfred knocks on the door of Thomas's study room, Hoping to hear from a reply.

Thomas Larsson
Is that you, Alfred?

Alfred

It appears that we have two guests that are wanting to see you, sir.

Thomas Larsson
You shouldn’t have brought them here.

Alfred

But they're willing to see you, sir. They might be helpful.

Thomas Larsson

Oh very well, do show them in

Alfred

As you wish sir

The doctor and Sally are greeted into Larsson's study

Doctor
So you must be the fabled Thomas Larsson, Pleasure to be meeting you.

Thomas Larsson
I was… before I realised what I’d helped create.

Sally
Create, what do you mean?

Thomas Larsson
About three months ago I was hoping to deliver supplies that are just derived into the country. The problem was the man who was working for us was using these new inventions as a means of executing and replacing us. I was almost one of the victims at night, but I decided to up the anti and steal one of his robots

Doctor
It's so you stole some Chap’s Robot on your own. That's a rather bold move though a tad reckless on your hand. You do realise that it's somewhat dangerous in a way.

Thomas Larsson
You don’t understand. Those machines—
(beat)
—they’re not inventions. They’re executioners.

Alfred
Calm, sir. Your pulse has elevated.

Sally
(startled)
That’s one of them!

Thomas Larsson
No, no, Alfred is not like the others. I was able to rewrite his directives and strip out the violent tendencies that they were originally made for.

Doctor
(stepping closer, fascinated)
Now that I have to say is rather clever of you!

Alfred
My primary function now is to assist and protect Mr Larsson.

Sally
Protect him from what?

Thomas Larsson
From them.

Doctor
And from this owner, you met I’d wager.
(beat, quieter)
He’s not what he claims to be, is he?

Thomas Larsson
No.
(firm)
Not even close.

There is a sudden heavy knock at the door, Everyone freezes in an instant

Sally
That didn’t sound friendly.

Thomas Larsson
(whispers, panicked)
Whatever you do, don't answer it.

Another knock is heard this time slightly louder.

Alfred
It appears that a threat has been detected.

Thomas Larsson
O god, They’ve found us all…

Doctor
Oh, I do love it when someone makes an entrance.

Thomas Larsson
No! You don’t understand, they’re all connected. If one finds you—

Doctor
—then it’s only polite to say hello.

Sally
Doctor, You're not seriously thinking of going out there…

Doctor
(grinning)
What is the matter with you all? It Could be a misunderstanding. Might just want a cup of tea.

Thomas Larsson
They don’t drink tea!

Alfred
My Recommendation is to not engage.

Doctor
As for me, I'm willing to do so

The doctor makes his way to the front door but a true Protoform is waiting

Sally
You’re impossible.

Doctor
Maybe so, but I have a trickle to up my sleeve

Thomas Larsson
(desperate)
I swear, If you open that door—

Doctor
(interrupting, calm)
Then we find out what we’re really dealing with.

The doctor then opens the door to find one of Protoform's battle drones out the front waiting for them. Their eyes are blue for friendly mode the same as Alfred however something seems rather off.

Protoform drone

Hello there, will it be all good if we question you sir?

Doctor
Oh, that would be such a pleasure in a way however I know exactly why you are here, And thanks to my special detecting sense of being strangely drawn to you find special rather than tin ribs. Why don't you show us your muscles!

The doctor pulls out his sonic screwdriver and activates the drones battle mode

Doctor
And with that we've finally seen no true form

Protoform drone

Deep cover compromised, You're an enemy you must be destroyed.

Thomas Larsson

You idiot, you're going to get us all killed

Sally

This can't be good, doctor.

Doctor
What were you expecting exactly? A friendly song and dance from the tin man.

Alfred

Is that what I really look like Master

Thomas Larsson

Of course not Alfred, You will always be my closest friend.

Doctor

All of you, I suggest we start walking backwards very very slowly

Sally

Do you think that'll work?

Doctor

We must, it's our only hope, Any fast movement will be obliterated like so.

The Doctor and Sally slowly move backwards away from the Battle drone, it watches them cautiously and carefully as they try to make their way to the door.

Thomas Larsson

Alfred, I suggest you get out of here, I need to face this one alone.

Alfred

Master, I can't leave you.

Thomas Larsson

That is my request to you as your master. You must go and protect this stranger and his Friend, I know it is hard for you to do so but you must.

Alfred

As you wish my master.

Alfred then joins The doctor and Sally as they make their way out of the house

Sally

Are you really sure this is working?

Doctor

What can I tell you? I'm very good with plans.

Sally didn't get a sudden surprise to see Alfred behind her

Sally

Goodness me, Alfred you startled me for a bit

Alfred

I apologize Mistress. Sally, but my master had requested me to join along with you.

Doctor

And why would that be so?

In the Background we hear The Battle drone Eliminate Thomas and start to approach the doctor and the others.

Sally

Looks like we haven't got long to get out of here.

Doctor

Best we start making our way to the front door quickly you lot

The Doctor, Sally and Alfred start running as the battle drone approaches them, once making it through the front door the battle drone Unleash it's its vaporiser ray I prepared to eliminate them.

Sally

Doctor It's about to kill us.

Doctor

Not unless I use this

The doctor pulls out his sonic screwdriver and deactivates the battle drone causing it to fall onto the ground.

Alfred

Fascinating I never knew you could disable enemies with a magic torch.

Doctor

Close, but no banana for you. It is a fact that my sonic screwdriver is very handy for this device.

Sally

Alfred, I just wanted to thank you for helping us

Alfred

The pleasure is all mine mistress Sally though I will miss my master, Thomas was a good man.

Doctor

He sure did his best for you.

Alfred

Now I have nowhere to go, no instructions and no motivation.

Sally

Doctor. I know this is extremely early but could we please keep Alfred? He's all on his own and it wouldn't be fair to just leave them out together rust.

The doctor feels hesitant to take on another robotic companion, but then agrees.

Doctor

Alright Sally, Alfred can stay with us

Sally

Oh thank you, Doctor. You're the best.

Alfred

I gradually appreciate that for you, Doctor, Now back onto the main subject. Would you mind telling me why that copy of me was chasing after us?

Doctor

That would be rather hard for me to explain without hurting your feelings, I suggest that you wait back in the tardis for the time being until we figure out the situation, Plus, it helps you to give it a bit of a cleanup whilst we're out.

Alfred

Very well, My senses indicate that your ship is not far away from here but rather hard to find.

Sally

I can give you a direction if you happen to spot a blue police box that's where the doctor’s Tardis

Alfred

Tardis?

Doctor

That's the name of my ship, it’s best you get there and we'll meet up with you as soon as this situation is over.

Alfred

As you wish, Doctor.

Alfred starts to leave the doctor and Sally hoping to reach his way to the tardis, With Alfred safely away the doctor and Sally must deal with the situation alone.

Doctor

Now that was rather easy to sort out,Quite a good job, Alfred may come in handy soon.

Sally

So what was that robot?

Doctor

My guess that it must've been some sort of undercover battle drone technologically advanced for the era very lethal but unfortunately dumb as a packet of pastries

Sally

Fair enough but what was it doing?

Doctor

Maintaining its disguise, I guess.

Sally

As in anachronistic steam punk automation certainly some disguise for sure

Doctor

Like I said Sally, it’s technologically advanced but somewhat dumb when Thomas tried to fight him off he threatened to shatter the drones cover by vaporising him inside the house and that drones mind. At least the threat was contained. We didn't make a fuss so normal service resumed.

Sally

That's madness

Doctor

Like I said, pastry brains or more to the point a potential army of pastry brains simply waiting in plain sight.

Sally

Oh yes, I see now, makes fair sense

Doctor

Precisely, but the question still remains whose army is it exactly

A police officer walks up towards the doctor and Sally wondering who they are

Detective Brady

They belong to Professor Hadleigh Schwartz from what I gather. If you want to find him, you better come with me.

Doctor

And who exactly are you?

Detective Brady

I'm detective Brady of the San Francisco police Department, and you are?

Doctor

John Smith a.k.a. the doctor from Scotland Yard and this is inspector Griffith.

Detective Brady

You're both from England, I presume

Sally

Actually, I'm from Australia. Is there a problem with that?

Detective Brady

None at all, it's just you're a long way from home.

Doctor

Unfortunately, we're not the only ones far away from home. you said you want us to follow you. We're too exactly.

Detective Brady

Schwartz’s factory down by the wharf

Sally

Doctor that sounds all suspiciously convenient, Should we trust him?

Doctor

Remember Sally always be polite to an officer, I feel this is becoming way too suspicious. I suggest we just play along with it.

Sally

Whatever you say, doctor.

The Doctor and Sally start to make a move to the wharf, Detective Brady looks at them in confusion

Detective Brady

Where the heck do you think you're going?

Doctor

Heading to the factory, It's not a far walk from here so come alone then what are you waiting for? Time waits for no life form, not even us.

Detective Brady

Couldn't he just call for a cab.

Sally

He prefers casual exercise. My advice is to just go for it.

Detective Brady

Very well, Madam

Some time passes as the doctor Sally and detective Brady make their way to the wharf filled with dozens upon dozens of ships in cargo supplies.

Doctor

Here we are a Moody Dockside warehouse shrouded in fog. It's like Christmas came in early.

Sally

I'd hate for you to buy me presents. You know why can't we just take the tardis to get here.

Doctor

Think about it Sally. We've only just met this officer and if they would've seen the tardis, they would've had their socks blown off so it's better that we keep it quiet, plus we’re in 19 century America, Their force is never even bothered to use police boxes.

Detective Brady

Police boxes? What on earth are you on about?

Doctor

That's a long story, but let's not get hung up on key details. Now that we're here, why don't you tell us about this professor Schwartz fellow?

Detective Brady

There's not much to tell, He arrived in town a few weeks ago and started selling these metallic men to the Rich and powerful up in Nob Hill. I'm not sure there's any more to him than that.

Sally

Sounds like some of my ex-boyfriend's

Detective Brady

It's only recently that the police started to take an interest in missing delivery men, strange technology. I suppose it was inevitable Brady came here asking for questions but died screaming when the answers he received were more than his tiny mind could take! Even Thomas Larson knew the full truth.

The Doctor and Sally watch as detective Brady turns into red dust and starts to morph into the sinister Professor Schwartz

Sally

(Scared)

Doctor, I think we may have found Professor Schwartz already.

Doctor

Seems my suspicions were rather correct

Professor Hadleigh Schwartz

Why it's rather funny how people are so willing to walk into the mouth of certain death even the seamlessly clever ones.

Two of the Battle drones appear right behind Professor Schwartz ready to take combat and destroy.

Professor Hadleigh Schwartz

Now then my metal soldiers, destroy them at once.

Pneumatic man Battle drone

Yes, leader.

Doctor

Quickly Sally, take cover.

The doctor and Sally make a run for it as the battle drones start to approach them. However, the two get knocked out to the ground

Doctor

(Being knocked out)

“Unnnff”

Sally

(Being knocked out)

“Offffff”

Professor Hadleigh Schwartz

Good work, my boys. You've done very well indeed.

Doctor

Now that was very inhospitable.

Sally

More so bloody rude of them.

Doctor

That too, Sally. I fear by this point I would be dealing with the  Astanzi.

Professor Hadleigh Schwartz

You know of the Astanzi?

Doctor

Now don't let this fool you my friend, I've been around the block a few times, but I know for sure that you're not Astanzi. Those chaps were blue with orange hair very Ziggy Stardust you could say. But if I was up for a punt, I'd say you're more of a bio engineered Proto form

Professor Hadleigh Schwartz

Very good doctor

Professor Schwartz Returns back into red dust as he starts to shape shift into his proper form from behind, The Doctor and Sally watching in shock and horror

Sally

What's a Proto form doctor?

Doctor

I suggest you move your head a bit to the left. and right in front of you, that is a Proto form.

Sally

“Gulp”, That looks like a giant clay monster from my nightmares.

Doctor

That's the same thought I was thinking

Proto Form

So Doctor, you figured it all out.

Doctor

What can I say? I'm always curious to know how my enemies work. So I see the Astanzi’s World is dying and they engineered you to scuttle off and find them a suitable new planet for colonisation. But you're in space for a long time and ship systems were knackered. Maybe you even fell through a rift in time itself.

Sally

And so they ended up here?

Doctor

Precisely Sally. They found themselves in a backwater world with little usable native technology to scavenge so you had to improvise straight up invasion just simply wouldn't work.

Proto Form

Exactly doctor. The calculations predicted that this land mass in America will soon dominate the planet. If we could infiltrate the other equations of its Society, we could.

Doctor

Invasion by stealth robots in disguise, I know I know very very clever. There is a tiny problem is that one of your robots was actually reprogrammed by Mr Thomas Lawson who I say knew about your work at the moment you killed his friends.

Proto Form

Then it's probably a good thing that the plan has changed.

Sally

Talk to what he's talking about?

Doctor

Seems like our Pro-form friend has a backup idea of sorts.

Proto Form

Already my Pneumatic men are returning to base ready to be renewed and upgraded from the subjugation to come.

Sally

Oh no, don't tell me Alfred's infected too.

Doctor

It's alright, Sally He's safe in the tardis, There's no way the part performs influence will come to him. But how are you able to be renewed and upgraded?

Proto Form

You speak of this  magnificent ship of use. I hear the technology inside outstrips anything that this prehistoric mud ball can offer. All you need to do is to return to that ship and open the door.

Doctor

And what makes you think I'd never do that?

Proto Form

From observation, I would summarise if you were given an impossible choice

The Battle drones move closer to Sally and grab her by the arms, restraining her.

Sally

Hey, let me go. Doctor. Get me out of here.

Doctor

No Sally.

Proto Form

Two simple options but one choice, you hand me over your ship or my drones tear the woman in half.

Doctor

Listen here Schwartz, Brady or whatever you call yourself you're about to make the biggest mistake in your life.

Proto Form

I really don't think so, Doctor. In fact I'd say the mistakes were all yours.

Doctor

Sally, I'm sorry. I've only just known you recently. but I wish it didn't have to conclude so early.

Sally

Whatever it is you have to do. I trust you.

Doctor

That's all I needed to hear.

The Doctor then whips out his sonic screwdriver which drives the robots into a frenzy blowing their circuits out, The Proto form two starts to weaken from the sound but not for long.

Doctor

Sorry for the loud noise, but I wasn't gonna let you harm my friend now would I?

Proto Form

Doctor, you shall die for this.

Doctor

Just be mindful, I have it on Stun mode for you

With the Proto form somewhat weakened by the sound, the doctor then goes up to Sally to see if she's alright.

Doctor

Sally, my dear, are you okay?

Sally

Just about doctors, Those robots are sure had a tough grip on me

Doctor

Well, the good thing is that you're perfectly safe

Sally notices that the warehouse is starting to glitch somewhat.

Sally

Doctor,Is the background glitching around us supposed to happen.

Doctor

Looks like the sonic must've passed through the perception filter on this warehouse.

Sally

What exactly did you do?

Doctor

Not much, but I decided it was time everyone stopped pretending and showed each other their true faces.

The warehouse continues to glitch until it is shown to be a massive Control room where dozens of battle drones are being made ready to be shipped out and to destroy all that fight against them.

Sally

Hold on this entire warehouse was a spaceship.

Doctor

And in disguise as well, rather clever of you, Mr. Proto form.

Proto Form

You may have only destroyed a few of my soldiers, but this army shall rage across this planet eliminating those that face us and soon not only will we conquer this planet but others who stand in our way.

Doctor

Sally, when I say run you run as fast as a rabbit.

Sally

Are you sure that's a good idea?

Doctor

It's better than being turned into dust by these tin men, Quickly Sally.

Proto Form

Stop them, Stop them both!

The Doctor and Sally start running out of the control room and start outside to the main wharf.

Sally

That's funny, it's Dawn already?

Doctor

Must be the perception filter well you could say a Friday glitch perception filter. It wasn't just hiding the ship, but also the surrounding environme–

Sally

Don't worry, I get the point.

Doctor

We should get back to the tardis and try and find a solution out of this.

Sally

Unfortunately, we've got other problems of our own

All of a sudden, the doctor and Sally find that the battle drones have captured the tardis and I brought it to the wharf as bait for our two travellers.

Doctor

Oh no, they've got the tardis

Sally

And worst of all Alfred is in there.

Doctor

I'm telling you right now, you silly old robots that whatever is in there means nothing to you. It's just an ordinary box with nothing fancy inside.

Just Behind the doctor, the Proto form approaches him for answers

Proto form

I have no idea who you really are, but your ethnicity is to be admired.

Doctor

I can assure you you're not the first lifeform to say that and you won't be the last.

Proto form

That's very presumptuous of you Dr. From what I can see. You've exhausted all your options with your ship. We can travel to other worlds and destroy them.

Doctor

Except for one tiny thing, my lad. Because ladies and gentlemen as a wise man once said here comes the cavalry.

The army of robots start to surround the doctrine Sally and the protest form ready to take aim however there is one tiny thing that is changed. Their main target is their leader.

Robot Drone

Deep cover compromise, Eliminate subject Proto form.

Proto form

Wait, you are to listen to me. What have you done under them doctor?

Doctor

Simple really with a little bit of work from my Sonic screwdriver I was able to reprogram them Just like how Mr Larsson did for Alfred. To them, you are their enemy.

Proto form

No, don't be fooled by this doctor and his tricks that ways!

Robot Drone

Resistance is futile enemy you must be destroyed, on my command soldiers.

Doctor

Now when I say duck, sally.

Robot Drone

ELIMINATE

Doctor

Duck

Sally

Looks like those Drone are blindly shooting themselves to pieces

Doctor

Yes, indeed they are, better that we get out of the crossfire. Quickly back to the Tardis

The Battle drone robots start firing at the Proto form destroying it peace by peace as its clay form starts to melt from the blast.

Proto form

No, no Arrrggggggh.

As the massive explosion starts to engulf the wharf, Sally and the doctor make their way to the tardis

Doctor

Quickly, Sally tried to keep up

Sally

I'm trying to doctor, but running in this old dress isn't easy. Have you ever tried running through a tent?

Doctor

That's a fair point, right I've got the door open best, get inside

The two start to make it inside the Tardis as the ship materialises from the explosion. The robots explode the spaceship within the wharf. Everyone of the battle drones and the Proto form are destroyed as they sink within the water.

Meanwhile, inside the Tardis. The doctor continues to work on the main console working on where the ship is to go next. Alfred, who has been waiting within the tardis, gets a chance to speak to the doctor.

Alfred

I say, I'm rather impressed that your ship is bigger inside than out

Doctor

That must be due to the trans-dimensional engineering that my ship has to offer if it is difficult to explain to your simple robotic mind.

Alfred

A bit harsh from your liking, but I will take that as a compliment.

Doctor

It was better for you to be safe here rather than out with your other fellows. They're sure we're not at the flight bunch.

Sally, now all freshen out after such a wild adventure, Enters from the tardis wardrobe.

Sally

Well, I'm pleased to be out of that dress, but is that really, is the Battle drones really gone?

Doctor

I think when the command ship was destroyed, it would've deactivated the entire mechanical army. They simply but scraps at the bottom of the bay.

Sally

But what about the Astanzi? If they heard the Proto-from’s Signal……

Doctor

I wouldn't think so they're long out of commission for awhile

Alfred

Then in that case, Will be waiting In case they return

Doctor

Precisely so Alfred.

Alfred

Now I hope this isn't too much to ask, but would any of you care for some tea after such a crazy adventure?

Sally

I wouldn't mind after all that's happened today.

Doctor

Same here, would it be all good if you add a biscuit with my one?

Alfred

Certainly doctor

Often makes his way to the Tardis kitchen getting the tea ready.

Sally

I think it's gonna be rather nice that we have Extra bit of help in the Tardis,Alfred might even clean up a bit of a mess around here.

Doctor

I have to agree with you there, Sally. I know that Alfred will do quite a bit of good for us all.

And with that, the tardis trio has been formed

THE END
