Return of the Autons

Inside the Tardis, the doctor is in the main study, trying to find the Main manual to Activate the tardis randomiser
Doctor
Now where on earth is that blasted manual?! If I'm ever going to keep the time lords away from me, I should at least try and activate the randomizer so they don't even know where I'm going for once. Where IS that manual?
The doctor continues searching through multiple books but to no avail.
Doctor
Let's see what we have here. A bit of Agatha Christie with the Orient express, already read that one. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein… haven’t seen her in awhile. An entire playbook on Shakespeare and…… aha there you are, the TARDIS manual. Hopefully with this we might start to make our way peacefully without getting interfered
The doctor makes his way back to the console room and goes through the controls of his ship.
Doctor
Now, if I press a few buttons here my dear It will activate the randomiser. I say you wouldn't actually mind it for once having to go to a different place without knowing where we are. We should really do that more often instead of getting distress signals. Either way once I press a few buttons here will be on our way shortly.
As the doctor adjusts the tardis’s settings assuring that the Randomiser is activated. The tart is all set to go on new adventures.
Doctor
Perfect, just as we like it! Now then, best you take me to somewhere where I am familiar with. If it Accidentally involves giant monsters or the usual spiel then that will be rather shocking. Personally, I don't mind just a few buttons over here and off we go
With a push from the main lever the tardis sets course, not knowing where the ship might land next.
Intro
Ext. Shopping Mall - Continue
A young woman called Sally Griffith walks past a shop window listening to music, her phone starts to ring as it is one of her friend’s Mitchell. Sally picks up her phone and starts talking to Mitchell.
Sally
Look Mitchell, if it’s me you want to help you out with you vandalize that i'm not interested
Mitchell
You could say that, is it alright if you meet me in a few minutes and we try give this store a bit of a makeover
Mitchell grabs a can of Spray paint and starts making art on the wall.
Sally
You know that this is a bad idea, the last time we did this we were almost in jail for God Sake.
Mitchell
I know that but this time I have a trick, I'll tell you all about it when you meet me at the back.
Sally
(Frustrated) alright i'll meet you there.
Sally hangs up the phone and makes her way to the back of the store.
Ext. Shopping Mall loading bay - Later
Sally arrives at the back of the mall but Mitchell is not there but all the spray cans that he was using.
Sally
Mitchell, Mitchell this ain't a game of hide and seek.
She then walks into the back door and into the storage room where all the shop window dummies are stored.
Int. Storage Room - Continuous
There is a clattering noise further down the corridor.
Sally
Hello? Hello, Mitchell, are you there, Mitchell?
(She opens the door to a store room and turns on the lights. There are boxes of clothes, and dressed dummies.)
Sally
Mitchell you’re really starting to scare me now!
(As she explores, the door slams behind her.Sally runs back but it won't open.)
Sally
Crap.
More noises behind her.
Sally
Mitchell are you mucking about?
All of a sudden, A male shop dummy turns to watch her, then approaches.
Sally
Yeah, you got me. Very funny.
A second one starts moving behind it, then a third.
Sally
Right, I've got the joke. What do you want, and what the hell have you done to Mitchell
More shop dummies start moving as Sally keeps backing away down the storage area. Finally they have her up against the wall, and the lead dummy raises its arm. Then a hand grabs Sally 's wrist.
Doctor
Well don’t just stand there my dear, Run.
He drags Sally through the basement as the Autons start chasing them.
and into a lift.
Int. Elevator - Continuous
Doctor
You ok madam
Sally
(Confused)
um yes, are you with the police?
Doctor
Well you could say that, im just here to sort out those Auton’s
Sally
The what
Doctor
The shop window dummies
Sally
Ok. for a minute there i thought it was Micthell and his friends pulling a prank on me
Doctor
Whose Micthell?
Sally
He’s a friend of mine, well I wouldn't say he’s my best friend
Doctor
Oh him, he was kidnaped by the Autons
Sally
(shocked)
wait what
The doctor and Sally exit from the lift.
Doctor
It’s all right he’s not dead, I was able to get them out earlier.
Sally
So what even happens now for you
Doctor
I better go to the main control centre to defeat the rest of the consciousness. if i don’t have time i will have to blow the whole place up
[While the doctor is talking to Sally , Sally makes here way to the back of the building]
Doctor
So whatever you do, don't tell anyone about this, because if you do, you could get killed. farewell
He shuts the door behind him, then opens it again.
Doctor
I'm the Doctor, by the way. What's your name?
Sally
Um Sally , Sally Griffith.
Doctor
Nice to meet you, Sally . best start running for your life!
Sally makes her way to the main road, nervous of the dummies in the shop window. She runs across the road, nearly becoming a hood ornament for a black cab.
Sally
Well he wound’t be that stupid to blow up-
And then KaBOOM! A huge fireball takes out the whole store.
Sally
Holy Smokes, that doctor, sure must be crazy
Sally starts to run straight past the Tardis parked just in an alleyway.
Int. Sally ’s apartment - Night
Sally enters into her flat where she lives and places her keys on a table, Sally ’s phone starts to ring as it is Mitchell checking if she is still alive,
Sally
I thought that he'd call first.
Sally answers the phone and chats to Mitchell.
Mitchell
Thank God you picked up
Sally
Its alright Mitchell im alive, how about you
Mitchell
I'm guessing you made your way home alive, for a minute I thought you were still in there.
Sally
The good news is that no one else got hurt.
Mitchell
Best turn on the tv, it's all over the news i even did an interview for the sake of it
Sally
You know you just want that interview for your ten seconds of fame, but whatever i'll check anyway
Sally then sits down and watches ABC News on channel 24.
News reporter
Welcome back to ABC News, The whole of Woden shopping center has been closed off as police investigate the fire. Early reports indicate that a Unknown fugitive sabotaged the building as a means to get attention. Two other people were inside the building before the explosion occurred.
We then see Mitchell’s interview.
Mitchell
Well from what i could recall i was trapped inside the store room and someone rescued me for some reason
News reporter
Was this person a Terrorist by any chance
Mitchell
Absolutely not, he just wore really standard clothes.
(The TV shows a Police Sketch of the Doctor)
News reporter
This Police Sketch here is what the man appears to look like. If you have seen this person. Please alert the police for any background.
Sally then turns off the TV and tries to call the police, however she stops as she starts to remember what the doctor had told her.
Doctor
(Voice Flashback)
Whatever you do, Don't tell anyone about this, because if you do, you could get killed.
She decides not to call the police but instead prepares herself to go to bed.
Int. The Doctor’s TARDIS - Continuous
(Meanwhile back in Tardis the doctor checks through every switch as he tries to get to the location where Kreig is.)
Doctor
Come on, old girl, we can find the nestenes at any moment now.
However the Tardis makes an arrival near Sally s Flat instead of the destination that the doctor intended to go to.
Ext. Outside Sally ’s apartment - Day
The Doctor then walks out of the tardis in Shock and
Doctor
No! That’s not where we're supposed to be.
The door closes behind the doctor and with a beep and flash of the beacon, the door locks.
Doctor
I don't want to be here! I won't do it! Fine! If you're so desperate…
The Doctor makes his way into the apartment block.
Int. Sally ’s apartment - Day
The Doctor knocks on the front door. After a moment, Sally opens it, surprised to see him standing there.
Sally
How did you even find me?
Doctor
All I know is the signal traced right through here.
Sally
You’re making no sense at all.
Doctor
In that case… I’d better go.
Sally folds her arms.
Sally
You. Inside. Right now.
She grabs the Doctor by the sleeve and pulls him into the flat. The Doctor awkwardly finds a chair and sits.
Sally
Alright. Doctor—if that is your real name—you’ve got a lot of explaining to do.
Doctor
Those things that attacked us last night? They’re called Autons. Living plastic soldiers that are controlled by something known as the Nestene Consciousness.
Sally
Okay… now that I know that, how did they get here?
Doctor
Well, you see, I discovered they were hiding out here on Earth. I had to stop them from taking over the planet… which involved blowing up quite a lot of their operation. Very Dangerous but but the good thing is no one got hurt
He pauses.
Doctor
but somehow that was only just a smaller faction. They seem to be more here on this planet than I imagined.
Sally
And that somehow led you here?
Doctor
Something must’ve intercepted the signal and pulled the TARDIS here instead.
Suddenly, the Doctor hears something faint—plastic scraping against the floor.
Doctor
Hang on… what’s that?
He glances around the room.
Doctor
You’ve got a pet or something in here?
Sally
No.
Suddenly, a plastic doll lunges from behind and clamps onto the Doctor’s throat.
Sally
Where did that doll come from? I haven’t played with that in years!
Doctor
Well don’t just stand there, get it off me!
Sally tries to pull the doll away, but it clings tightly to the Doctor’s neck.
As the Doctor struggles, his sonic screwdriver falls from his jacket pocket and clatters to the floor.
Doctor
(shouting)
Quickly, Sally! Grab my sonic!
Sally
You're what?
Doctor
The screwdriver! On the floor! Use it!
Sally grabs the sonic screwdriver and points it at the doll.
Sally
I almost got it and…
She presses the button, A sharp electronic ZAP.
The doll immediately goes limp and drops to the floor, completely inactive. The Doctor gasps for breath.
Doctor
Goodness me, that was a close one
Sally
Is… that the only one?
The Doctor picks up the doll and examines it carefully.
Doctor
Afraid not.
Before Sally can respond, The sound of glass shattering outside echoes through the apartment. Both of them freeze.
The Doctor slowly looks toward the window.
Doctor
Sounds like the real trouble’s just arrived.
Sally
what could that be
Doctor
You’d better stay with me
Sally
Ok doctor,but if so I may need this
Sally grabs a gun from the table
Doctor
Hold on a tick! You've got a GUN?!
Sally
You’ve got a fancy weapon of your own!
Doctor
It's a sonic screwdriver!
The doctor and Sally run to the living room but are stopped by the autons
Sally
Really, these guys again?
Doctor
The Autons.
Sally
this has to be a joke
Doctor
this isn’t any joke
Sally
but there just useless
Sally fires a bullet from his gun which hits an Auton but does not die
Doctor
I really think you shouldn't have done that
Sally
And why so?
Doctor
because they don't die from bullets.
The autons then activate their handguns and start to fire up the two
Sally
So now what
Doctor
Looks like we're gonna have to make a run for it this way
The doctor and Sally start running up the stairs as two autons chase after them, one of the autons grabs Sally’s Leg.
Sally
Doctor, its pulling me back in
Doctor
Don't you worry, Sally, I'll find a way out.
Sally
Can't you just hit them with something?
Doctor
I don't condone to violence. I usually like to find another way. Maybe if I make good use of my yo-yo it'll cause a distraction for them.
The Doctor grabs his Yo-yo from his jacket pocket and uses it at the autons, causing them to collapse.
Doctor
There we go, that's the last of them hopefully they won't be bothering us any time soon.
Sally
Ok? Doctor. You have a lot of explaining to do!
Doctor
Those things were Autons. Living plastic cretures controlled by the Nestene Consciousness.
Sally
How did they get here?
Doctor
Well many years ago I accidentally released the nestene from its prison. I tried to stop it however they escaped and hid on earth plotting their next Scheme.
Sally
Well Doctor, this time you need to finish what you started.
Doctor
Exactly so.
A brief pause as the Doctor paces around the room, thinking.
Doctor
Speaking of which, did you hear anything that sounded strange last night
Sally
Well for one, Mitchell was being interviewed on the Telly, he wouldn’t dare to show his face after being caught on the news one time for Vandalism
Doctor
So it looks like the one i saved was an auton duplicate
Sally
And the real Micthell is with the autons
Doctor
Honestly, what is it with people getting kidnapped today? First Todd, now this. Mitchell would make a terrible assistant
Sally
So Doctor, you have a plan or something?
Doctor
We’re going to need something strong. Something powerful enough to kill the Nestene, ive got it How about a bomb.
Sally
Didn’t you use that the last time, i feel that you have a strange obsession with explosions
Doctor
I'm not sure, maybe because plastic can be blown to pieces as it’s a weak material when it melts
Sally
There's just one tiny problem in your plan.
Doctor
Oh, and that is?
Sally
Where are we gonna find explosives?
Doctor
Luckily for me, I may have a few extra wires and trinkets in my pockets
Sally
Wait, how I know if you're able to fit all that stuff.
Doctor
Simply to put it, I'm a man of impossible things
Sally
Okay, but are you sure this plan will work?
Doctor
Don’t worry, you'll find out soon enough
The Doctor pulls out a number of wires and also grabs a number of Computer keyboards and other electronics and starts to smash them all onto the table.
Sally
Okay, in future, would you mind telling me when you're gonna start breaking stuff?
Doctor
It's all a part of the process plus I always love it when I invent things that make my job a little easier. Well don't just stand there past me that screw
Sometime passes as the doctor puts the Final finishing touches on the anti-plastic disintegrator,Hopefully now he'll be able to get rid of the Autons
Doctor
Looks like we have what we need, time to get building
Sally
Well, I gotta say you're actually pretty good at making this type of stuff.
Doctor
Next stop. The Nestene headquarters.
A patrol group of autons roam the factory making sure that no one here is shot on site, Hiding outside the factory is the Doctor and Sally who are awaiting the right moment to take action.
Doctor
Ok Sally, you know what to do. Place the disintegrator in a perfect spot and try not to get caught.
Sally
But what if we get killed, you saw what happened earlier
Doctor
this time we’re 10 steps ahead of them. let’s split up
The doctor and Sally start making their way into the factory.
Doctor
Now while I placed the disintegrator, you keep an eye on any odd ones if they come through if you spot any call out for me immediately got that
Sally
Sure thing doc
Doctor
One more thing I'd like to say, please just refer to me as the doctor and not doc. Unless you happen to know anyone named McFly, of course(!)
As Sally keeps a look out, The doctor places the disintegrator within the factory, He then Sets up the timer before making it back to Sally.
Sally
The coast is all clear, Doctor
Doctor
Well, looks like this time it's goodbye for the Autons
Suddenly an auton grabs Sally and restrains her as Mitchell walks down some steps pointing a gun at the doctor.
Sally
(scream)
let go of me
Mitchell
Welcome Doctor, we have been expecting you for quite a while now.
Doctor
Micthell It's me, we've come to get free from the Autons. Listen, we can help you.
Mitchell
This time the plan will work, and you won’t stand in our way
Doctor
It would be nice that we would meet him in person, and i only say this to you once, LET THE GIRL GO.
Mitchell orders the Auton to release Sally .
Doctor
Now take us to you master at once
The doctor and Sally follow the autons into the factory and enter the Chamber Room.
Sally
So are you going to reveal your master?
Doctor
I think he’s right there
Mitchell
The Nestene has been awaiting for this moment for many years
Doctor
well very nice to meet you… Mr. nestene consciousness. I know what you’ve been up to, hiding from me so you can rebuild yourselves so you can try and take over the world.
Nestene consciousness
The plan is far from that, Micthell here is not only my servant but has a chip in his brain which makes us control him
Doctor
So you brainwashed him, you’re only using my companion to please you. A tad unpleasant…
Nestene consciousness
It will be the moment when the human race will suffer and we will soon take this world as our own, Now Mitchell Destroy the Doctor and the Human female
Mitchell starts to load his Blaster and kill The Doctor and Sally.
Sally
Please Micthell you Don’t have to do this.
Doctor
Micthell, remember who you are! Don’t listen to The Nestene, It's only using you for his pleasure and once he is finished with us he'll kill you too. You could help us stop this invasion before it even carries out! You have a soul within you, so please help us!
Sally
Doctor it's not working
Doctor
I'm sorry Sally that i got you into this mess, this is the end for us
Sally then clings on to the doctor and hugs him, the doctor protects Sally and awaits his doom.
Auton
Now Micthell, Destroy them
The sound the blaster fires, the doctor opens his eyes and realizes that he and Sally are not dead.
Sally
Doctor, we’re alive
Doctor
Wait a tick, if Micthell didn’t kill us, who did he shoot then?!
Nestene consciousness
No what has Happened
Doctor
It appears that Mitchell no longer serves you, your plan has failed. Before I head out of here, I’d like to let you know that me and Sally went to the liberty of placing High class explosives right outside your factory…
Nestene consciousness
You will never defeat us
Doctor
I wouldn’t be so sure.
The doctor pulls out his sonic screwdriver and activates the countdown for the explosive device.
Doctor
Now Sally, you must get yourself out of here before you end up getting caught in the blast.
Sally
But what about you, doctor? I can't leave you here.
Doctor
Try not to argue with me, I'll be with you as soon as I can.
Sally starts to make a run for the exit. The doctor carries Mitchell out from the base as the Autons start going out one by one. The nestene Consciousness along with the factory blow up as the doctor and Micthell survive the explosion.
A few hours past and Mitchell is resting down on his sofa whilst the doctor Nurses back to health
Doctor
Rise and shine Mitchell no need to worry now the Voice in your head is all gone
Micthell
Hey, you saved me
Doctor
Yes, that’s sort of my gimmick.
Micthell
but how did you kill that creature
Doctor
Well, I've just a bit of luck and some heavy explosives. It's always easy to get rid of creatures like that when you have the right materials. That's all I can really do to help you. It’s perhaps best to take it easy for a few days and try and lay off on the suites for a change.
The Doctor then starts To get up from his chair and his right for the door, Mitchell stop him in his tracks
Micthell
Sir, who are you
Doctor
I'm the doctor, just the doctor.
That the doctor leaves Mitchell at peace enclosed the door behind him Outside of the apartment is Sally checking if everything was alright
Sally
Doctor did it work.
Doctor
It most certainly did.
Sally
Oh that's good to hear.
Doctor
Indubitably.
Sally
So, what are you going to do now Doctor?
Doctor
I say it would be back to the TARDIS. Just the same old life, you know.
Sally
No, I don't know.
Doctor
Oh, that's a shame, there's a whole universe out there that needs saving and exploring.
Sally
But do you have anyone to show it to?
Doctor
Not anymore. I lost quite a few friends in a short amount of time. Ben and Molly, Todd and recently Reeves. There's no one left.
Sally
Oh, that's good! I mean no it's not, but it is for me.
Doctor
Why so?
Sally
Well, I was wondering if I could go with you.
Doctor
With me? Well, why not! If so, Come right this way to the TARDIS
The Doctor and Sally make their way to the TARDIS
Doctor
Well, here she is. What do you think?
Sally
It doesn’t look as cool as i expected
Doctor
I know it may not look like a fancy spaceship, but inside it sure is a trip into nothing you have ever seen before.
Sally
Well i hope my expectations aren't disappointing
Stacey walks to the Tardis and opens the doors, inside she Witnesses the beautiful complex of the ship
Sally
I can't believe it's bigger on the inside
Doctor
Miss Sally Griffth, I welcome you to the Tardis, Time and relative Dimension in space
Sally
Gotta admit this place is actually pretty impressive,
Though how does it work, doctor?
Doctor
The most likely thing I would do is to flick the switch and then set a destination where I'd like to go.
Sally
Is there any place you plan to be going next?
Doctor
Not exactly but the reason I've been using the randomiser within the tardis. It's most likely we could be going anywhere in the universe without even knowing where we are.
Sally
So basically, you don't know where we're going exactly.
Doctor
That's more so the good thing but I can assure you we'll have a few trips for a bit and then I'll get you back home safe and sound for some tea and a biscuit.
Sally
Well, I could see that working either way.
The doctor grabs a switch flicks it and the tardis takes off
Doctor
I hope you're ready Sally , because you are about to take your first steps in a much larger world.
Sally
I sure am and another thing Doctor Who are you
Doctor
All in good time my dear, all in good time
And with that the doctor and Sally set off onto new adventures ahead of them
