The Indian transport sector is one of the most diverse and fast growing in the world. Indian transport industry contributes about 5.5 percent to the nation’s GDP. Green mobility is the only solution to minimize the environmental impact caused by the transportation sector without impacting the growth momentum. The e-Vehicle market in India has huge potential for growth. The vision is to produce nearly six to seven million electric four-wheelers and two-wheelers by 2020. Also the government is aiming to make the country, a 100 percent electric vehicle nation by 2030. Academic institutions in collaboration with industries have a vital role to play in realizing the ambitious plans by the government and in this connection VIT is planning to hold a two day electric Vehicles-Initiatives and Technologies Conclave 2018 (eVIT Conclave 2018) at its Chennai Campus on 9th and 10th March, 2018.

eVIT Conclave 2018 will bring together key players of automotive industries and academic leaders in India to discuss various initiatives, technology advancements, research and development (R&D) programs and policies that will enable a vibrant way forward. The eVIT Conclave will have sessions engaging both industry and academic experts discussing technologies, policies, R&D, barriers and future strategic sustainability of business. The Conclave will serve as a knowledge and best practice sharing platform and will draw participation from leading companies and organizations that are at the forefront of sustainability, as well as global thought leaders, experts, policy makers and sustainability service providers.
