Evil mountains is a challenging survival game that combines horror with aliens. Crafting, base building and defense, a rewarding skillsystem, exploration and hardcore survival are key elements. The world is big (64 sqkm) and there's a lot to explore. The goal is to release the game in summer 2024, so stay tuned!
A Massive Open World
A 64 sqkm world ready to be explored. Snowy mountains, deep forests, caves, villages, lakes and rivers.
Inventory system
What's unique about this system is that you can place anything from your inventory in the world if you don't want to drop it and have run out of space. You can also salvage anything that's craftable into it's components. Increase your carrying capacity with attributes and/or perks.
Building system
You can build a variety of structures and also upgrade the buildables to more sturdy structures.
Base building
Every building piece can be moved. Base defence is necessary since enemies can destroy your base. Be careful so your base does not set on fire (oh yes, it can burn down, so you better upgrade those wood pieces to something less flameable)
Crafting
There's a lot you can craft. The player can craft by hand and with the help of various crafting stations. Craft weapons, tools, ammo, various work benches, armor, drugs, explosives, storage containers and vehicles... among other.
Interactive crafting
Several of the crafting stations are animated for a more immersive feeling.
Storage
You can store anything. There's no limit to how much you can store. I'm planning to add more types of storage too, like shelves.
Quality of life
There are several objects you can craft to improve your quality of life in the wilderness.
Rewarding Skill system
You gain experience for all kinds of things and when you reach a certain level you level up and gain a skill point. With that skillpoint you can choose an attribute of your liking and this will increase your ability within that area. Then you can select a perk to specialize in something particular. The skillsystem is constructed so it will be rewarding to gain levels.
Wildlife - hunt and fish
There are several animals you can hunt (or be hunted by). You can also set traps and go fishing.
Alien infestation
There's an alien threat.... Big time! And it's up to you to fight it back. Can you drive the enemies back, and will you find out why these aliens have such a keen interest in this God forsaken place?
They come from above and below
They can pop up when you least expect it and you better keep an eye open in front of you and behind you. But you also have to look up.... and down.....
Cooking - advanced
You can cook several dishes and you will unlock more recipes the more you progress. Food will give you various benefits and advanced prepared meals will give you even more benefits.
Cooking - basic
If you don't eat or drink, you will die... So eat... and drink.
Wood Chucka
Yes, you have to chop down trees, it's a survival game...
Mine your own business
And mine too of course. There are several different types of minerals in the world and they are always useful for something. Don't forget your mining hat, safety first!
Flora
The nature contains many good things, some you can eat directly, some you can use in various dishes, some you can use in crafting and some you should'nt eat at all, but everything has a use. How about making poison arrows with the help of a toxic mushroom? Or perhaps bring out your chemistry book and the chemistry bench and cook a stamina boosting drug? Or just prepare a delicious meal? If it was'nt for the aliens, this place would'nt be such a bad place.
Weapons and tools
You can craft and/or find a lot of weapons and tools. Right now there are 23 weapons or weapon-type items in the game. And I'm always trying to add more.
Diseases
You can get sick, really sick. But anything can be cured, as long as you know how and have the right drugs or equipment.
Bleeding, infected wound, sepsis, wet, cold, flu, pneumonia, stomach disease, broken leg. Anything can bring you down. But there's always a cure.
Enemies
There are several types of enemies and they all look and act differently. They have one thing in common though: they are evil.
Responsive enemies
The enemies does'nt just walk towards you and try to beat the shit out of you. They have some sort of intelligence. They can dodge, they can stalk you, they can jump, they can even run away from you. And depending on what you attack them with they can be knocked down to the ground, instantly killed (if headshot for example), poisoned, lit on fire or beheaded.
Lootable enemies
Yes, they have loot. Sometimes rare loot. If you choose the right perk you'll get a higher chance of getting rare loot. If you downed them with arrows, you can take the arrows back from their dead corpses.
