Test if an accessory can trigger an alert is the most important TEST and it should be done every time a new system is installed. In order to get the alerts, the IPBOX should be powered and connect to internet with stable connection. With this test user can confirm: The accessory is paired with the gateway, it is using the correct battery with a sufficient level of charge, the accessory is in range of the IPBOX signal and there are no obstacles to stop the wireless signal.
Arm the system
From the SECURITY panel, click ARM, otherwise use the remote controller (this will also confirm both remote controller and voice siren are working well).
Trigger an accessory
Try to simulate an intrusion, without moving the accessory from his location.
Verify in alert list
Go to the LIST panel and verify if the alert was registered in the list. If it doesn’t, check the next page to solve trigger problems.
Select one accessory
Click on any of the accessories listed in SYSTEM to check the status report.
Date/time of last report
Every hour the last message time is updated, that means the accessory has been installed correctly and it is working fine.
Disconnection time
The time of first negative check will appear, that means the accessory was installed well, but lost connection because of the bad location or because of power supply.
If the accessory never reported, it is probably not paired well or the battery is not working, delete it from the system list, and add it again as a new accessory.
Replace the battery If the battery has low energy from the beginning, the accessory may have difficulty to report his status or to trigger an alert. You may also verify it has been inserted with the correct polarity. Usually if the LED is blinking during the binding procedure, that means the battery has enough charge.
Install the accessory in another place. Remember these few points when installing any new accessory:
Do not install on metal surfaces
Do not have thick walls between accessory and IPBOX
Leave 1 meter distance between each accessory
Do not install other strong wireless fonts between IPBOX and accessory
The most important decision is where to install the IPBOX, this will influence the connection and stability of the whole system. Follow these suggestions when choosing the place for your IPBOX
Central position
To enhance the wireless signal strengh it is better to install the IPBOX at medium distance to all the accessories. Do not hide in small rooms or boxes, instead install it higher or on the ceiling.
Central floor
If you install the accessories in different floors, it is better to install the IPBOX in the central floor and reversed, so the wireless signal with most intensity will be delivered vertical.
Avoid obstacles
The IPBOX can communicate to very long distances if there are no obstacles or interferences. Each brick wall of 10~20cm thick will weaken the wireless signal 20~50%, walls thicker than 1m, metal studs or metal door will stop completely the wireless signal so it is better not to install devices between.
