ForgeBackup is a simple backup tool.  It helps you back up your notes (or other files) from your Android device to your own PC or server on your home network — nothing more. The app never connects to the internet, has no accounts, no analytics, and collects zero personal data.

Data Storage

All backups are stored exclusively on your local PC or server within your home network

No data is ever sent to external servers, cloud services, or the internet

The developer (EverForge Labs) has no access to your files or backups at any time

Data Transfer

Files are transferred only over your local WiFi network 

Transfers occur directly between your Android device and your chosen PC/server

No encryption is applied during these local network transfers (as they remain within your private home network)

Permissions

Location permission (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION or ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION for WiFi SSID detection) is used only to identify your home WiFi network for local device discovery — nothing is tracked or sent externally

Storage permission (e.g., READ/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE or modern scoped equivalents) is used only to access the folders you explicitly select for backup or restore

No data is collected, shared, transmitted, or uploaded outside your local network

No Data Collection or Sharing

The app does not collect, store, or share any personal information, device identifiers, usage data, or file contents with us or any third parties. Everything stays under your control on your devices and network.
