Evacuation of more than 100 people

An emergency evacuation of more than 100 people as well as closure of a major road has been triggered by flash flooding outside the Grand Canyon. Rising waters in the Grand Canyon South Rim on Tuesday were particularly affecting Tusayan, Arizona. Before they could be reunited with their families, over 70 students from the nearby Grand Canyon Unified School District had been housed on school grounds. Tourists and employees also were evacuated from employee housing units and hotels. There have been no reports of injuries.   Sections of highway 64 had been at least 3 feet under water due to the flooding, which resulted in a closure. Since then, the road has been partially reopened, and the damage caused by the floods is being assessed by the security forces. More info about weather find here: Weather
