EVA Air Athens Office
EVA Air Athens Office
The EVA Air Athens Office is one of the most important global airlines in Taiwan and one of its members is the Star Alliance. The stellar services provided by the airline with a great fleet and an extraordinary safety record make the airline a perfect option for travelers in Greece who want to travel from their country to Taipei, and to a huge array of destinations across Asia and North America. Athens is the primary hub for international travelers arriving in Greece and the airline's Athens Branch Office, known as EVA Air, is your point of contact for local representation and support and has been synonymous with providing access to airline and other travel services for many years. Whether you are a tourist booking your long-haul vacation, a student preparing to leave for Asia, a business traveler, or family taking children to visit relatives, the right route will save you hours of time and aggravation.
Unlike some other airlines that maintain a large dedicated branch, EVA Air's commercial activity in the Greek market is conducted via a General Sales Agent (GSA) acting on behalf of the airline and supporting all sales, marketing and trade promotion activities. This translates into a collaboration between the Greek travel agents, the corporations and individual travelers who use the service with the GSA and the airline's worldwide call centres, as well as with the company's official website. It would be useful to realize this context before getting down to the task of planning or booking your travel. If you are expecting a ticket counter on every other street corner – be warned – the support network, albeit professional and well-organized, is sparse.
Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" is located at Spata, about 35kms from the city centre. The airport's location provides for a smooth transfer to central Athens by means of the Metro Line 3, suburban railway and express buses and taxis. Until much further notice, check-in at ATH is located inside the airport's departure hall. You should always check on the information screens on the day of your departure which check-in-desk and terminal your flight departs from. Due to the fact that every Greece flight of EVA Air is normally based on hub connecting flights, most of our customers will visit Athens as the first stop on their journey which continues to Taipei via another hub. Please refer to your confirmation slip for the carrier and the exact time of departure.
Booking a flight with EVA Air from Greece is straightforward once you know your options. The most direct route is the airline’s official website, where you can search flights from Athens to Taipei and onward destinations, compare fares and complete your purchase in a secure environment. Fares shown on the site depend on cabin, season, flexibility and how early you book. Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class (Royal Laurel Class) are the principal choices on long-haul services, and each comes with different baggage allowances, seat selection options and change conditions.
Passengers who prefer personal advice can book through a licensed Greek travel agency, many of which have direct access to EVA Air’s fares through the GSA and global distribution systems. This option is especially useful for complex trips, such as multi-city itineraries, group bookings, student fares or journeys that combine EVA Air with other Star Alliance partners. You can also book through EVA Air’s regional call centers or reservation channels listed on its official website. Whichever route you choose, keep your booking reference (a six-character code), your e-ticket number and your confirmation email in a safe place. Check that the name on the reservation matches your passport exactly, since even small mismatches can cause problems at check-in.
For the best results, search with flexible dates. Fares from Greece to East Asia can vary considerably between low and peak seasons, and a shift of a few days can change the price noticeably. Setting a fare alert and booking when the price drops is a sound strategy. Also look carefully at layover times. A connection that is too short risks a missed flight, while one that is very long can be tiring, so aim for a comfortable middle ground, especially if you are traveling with children or elderly relatives.
Plans change, and EVA Air’s fare rules set out what you can and cannot do after buying a ticket. Some fares allow date changes with a fee, others are more restrictive, and flexible fares in higher cabins generally give you more freedom. The conditions are shown at the time of purchase and in your confirmation, so read them before you pay. If you need to change or cancel, the quickest path is usually the “Manage Booking” section of the official website. If you booked through a travel agency, contact that agency first, because they hold control of the ticket and must process the change themselves. Refund timelines depend on the original payment method and the fare type. In general, expect several weeks for refunds to a card, and always keep copies of your cancellation confirmation.
Online check-in is normally available before departure, and checking in early gives you a better choice of seats. At Athens airport, arrive well ahead of a long-haul departure, typically three hours before, to allow for baggage drop, security and passport control. Baggage allowances differ by fare and cabin, so confirm the number of pieces and weight limits shown in your ticket. Pack batteries, power banks and liquids according to international aviation rules, and keep medication, travel documents and valuables in your cabin bag. If you are traveling with special items such as sports equipment or musical instruments, notify the airline in advance so it can advise on the correct procedure and any extra charges.
Greece is in the Schengen Area but that isn't where you may be headed. Verify passport validity, the need for a visa, transit requirements and any health or customs declarations before flying to Taiwan or any subsequent country. Many find it eye-opening that their passport needs to be valid for six months or more so verify this before leaving. The airline can only fly you if your documents are valid, so it could be a problem with the airline if they are not. Official websites and your embassy or consulate are the best resources.
EVA Air has a well-regarded reputation for service, and its support network is designed to help passengers before, during and after their journeys. Customer service covers a wide range of needs, including reservation questions, ticket changes, seat selection, special meals, baggage inquiries, mileage accounts and accessibility assistance. Passengers in Greece can reach support through the contact options listed on the airline’s official website, such as regional phone lines, email forms and online chat where available. Social media channels and the mobile app can also be useful for quick questions. Find EVA Air office contact details, including phone numbers, office addresses, customer support services, and assistance with flight bookings, reservations, and travel-related inquiries.
When you contact support, prepare your booking reference, passport details, flight number and a brief description of the issue. This helps the agent resolve your request in a single contact. If you have a complaint or need compensation for delays, damaged baggage or service failures, put it in writing, keep your receipts, and describe the facts clearly. Under European rules, passengers may have specific rights for delays, cancellations and denied boarding on qualifying flights, so it is worth checking whether your journey is covered. Remember that official channels are free to use. Be cautious about third-party websites that charge fees for “support” or display official-looking numbers, since these are often commercial lead-generation pages and not the airline itself.
Passengers with reduced mobility, medical conditions or other special needs should notify the airline as early as possible after booking. EVA Air can arrange wheelchair assistance, support for passengers with visual or hearing impairments, medical clearance procedures and special seating where available. Families can request bassinets for infants, child meals and help with unaccompanied minors, subject to the airline’s policies. Dietary needs such as vegetarian, halal, kosher, gluten-free or low-sodium meals are usually requested in advance, so do not wait until the day of the flight. Making requests early gives the airline time to prepare and avoids disappointment.
EVA Air’s loyalty program, Infinity MileageLands, lets passengers earn miles on flights and redeem them for tickets, upgrades and other rewards. As a Star Alliance member, EVA Air also allows you to use miles and status benefits across partner airlines, making it valuable for travelers who fly regularly between Europe and Asia. If you do not yet have a membership number, it is worth enrolling before you travel, as miles are usually credited only when the number is included in the booking. Check the program terms for earning rates by fare class, expiry rules and lounge access.
Plan early, since long-haul fares tend to rise as departure approaches. Double-check every detail on your ticket, including spelling, dates and routing. Download the airline’s app for notifications and digital boarding passes. Allow generous time at airports, especially during busy summer and holiday periods. Carry a printed copy of your itinerary in case of device problems. Consider travel insurance, which can cover cancellations, medical emergencies and lost baggage. Finally, if anything goes wrong, stay calm, speak to the airline’s staff at the airport and then follow up through official channels with your documents ready.
On all travel booked through our Athens Office, it is operated by the airline's extensive network of sales and support in Greece, and has the full support of the airline. Give yourself the best chance of a trouble free journey between Athens and Taipei, by using the official channels, preparing your documents and understanding the rules of your fare.
