Europeana in your classroom: building 21st-century competences with digital cultural heritage

My Learning Diary

Prof. Tiziana Angiolini

Hello everybody!

My name is Tiziana Angiolini and I am a teacher of English and German living in Italy. I teach secondary school students in a school with courses dealing with Art, History of Art, Painting, Fashion Design and Media Studies.

Most of my students are in the age group 14-19, I teach English and also English Literature in six classes. I am involved in some projects and teach English in afternoon lessons preparing students to take Cambridge English certificates for levels B1 and B2.

The school is in Reggio Emilia- its name is Liceo Artistico Gaetano Chierici. The school is undergoing some restoration work and since it is an old school it requires the work and the use of modern techniques as we live in an area where we had some earthquakes in the last twenty years.

The school is located in the city centre of Reggio Emilia, a nice city where people are involved in many activities dealing with Food, Fashion and Technology in production.

Our school has been involved in many projects and in the last years we have worked on providing better learning and more training. Most of our students need to go to university to get a degree.

I am here to learn about Europeana as I love learning about new platforms and tools which can enhance my way of working.

My interests are in ELT, web 2.0 tools and online learning.

Although I have been learning and teaching for many years I still feel that I need to learn more and rely on the many communities online which can help me develop .

You can find more information about me online as I have shared some of the certificates and achievements I have
