Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss

Target

15.1

By 2020, ensure the conservation, restoration and sustainable use of terrestrial and inland freshwater ecosystems and their services, in particular forests, wetlands, mountains and drylands, in line with obligations under international agreements

Target

15.2

Target

15.3

By 2030, combat desertification, restore degraded land and soil, including land affected by desertification, drought and floods, and strive to achieve a land degradation-neutral world

Task: You are a drone operator. Your task is to reforest one hard reachable area with your drone. Area has a shape of a square with nine blocks (3x3).

First you need to plant oaks on blocks numbered with prime numbers equal or greater then 3, from the lowest to the biggest. Afterwards, you continue planting pines on blocks numbered with even numbers, starting in the block with the lowest number and continuing to the biggest.
In the end you will plant willow on the remaining blocks, starting with the block closest to the one you were in the moment you planted last pine.

Draw a path your drone will follow in the process of planting trees.

Background: algorithms can operate drones, robots and all machines that can help replace people in difficult jobs. Mathematics and physics are basis for understanding how to create and programme machines.
