I am currently Professor at the Department of Economics, Lancaster University Management School (UK) and Co-Director of the PhD in Economics programme. I also serve as Co-Director of the International Housing Observatory and the UK Housing Observatory. From 2020 to 2023, I was Head of Department.
My research interests lie in the fields of time series and financial econometrics, housing markets, macroeconomics and international finance.
My research investigates the evolution of asset market dynamics and their interaction with the macroeconomy, with the aim of informing policymaking. A central feature of my work is its focus on nonlinearities and structural change, which are crucial to understanding how markets evolve, adjust, and occasionally destabilize. From a methodological perspective, my work develops econometric approaches designed to model time-varying and nonlinear time-series processes, and to improve forecasting performance.
