You can get your child to answer this by creating more number bonds!
Preparation:
Cut out 10 pieces of rectangle shaped paper and write the number 10 on each of them.
Cut out 10 pieces of circle shaped paper and write 0 to 9 (one number on each paper).
Cut out 10 more pieces of circle shaped paper. Keep these blank and do not write any numbers on them.
Play a Game:
Place the rectangle shaped papers with number 10 on the table.
Place all the other numbers written on the circle shaped papers upside down on the table.
Ask your child to pick up one of the circle shaped paper and read out the number.
Then ask your child: What number do you need to make 10?
Write on the blank circle paper and match it together to make the number bond. (E.g. If your child has picked up the number 3, he/she will need to write 7 on the blank paper and put these 2 circle shaped paper under the number 10 to make a number bond.)
Keep the three numbers at a side and then repeat the game over again.
