Presenters: Lance Males & Natalie Dorval Johnson - Northern College
This Lunch & Learn session wil explore practical ways to strengthen student participation and collaboration across online, hybrid, and in-person classrooms using Padlet. Led by two experienced Ontario college faculty, the session highlights hands-on strategies that go beyond using Padlet as a simple bulletin board, including engagement activities, structured discussions that make student thinking visible, feedback boards that encourage reflection and dialogue, and course design approaches that support inclusivity and accessibility. Participants will see real examples, experience a brief live demonstration, and leave with adaptable ideas they can immediately apply in their own teaching, regardless of discipline or experience level.

Thursday, April16th - 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm (EST)
Presenter: Navid Nazhand - Seneca Polytechnic
This faculty-focused workshop explores how to move from experimenting with generative AI tools like Microsoft Copilot to using them in thoughtful, pedagogically sound ways. Rather than centering on technical features, the session examines how AI can support lesson planning, assessment design, feedback, and instructional efficiency while upholding academic integrity and responsible use. Drawing on classroom examples from business and applied programs, it addresses common concerns, boundary-setting strategies, and introduces a simple decision-making framework to evaluate when AI aligns with course outcomes and institutional policies. Participants will leave with practical strategies and a clearer understanding of how to use AI as a purposeful teaching tool.
