I'm using it to help me create timelines for a project I'm working on involving several separate modules of varying complexity. I'd be very interested to hear if anybody else in the forum has used this tool (or a similar tool) and how accurate (or accurate-ish is probably the best we can hope for really!) they found the estimates.

I have been using Chapman to guide my estimations as well. Do you find those times are still accurate when authoring with Rise? My experience with Rise in last six months is that drafting and development is much more rapid. Wondering if there is a new calculator that factors that in?

I'm happy to do a call with you to go over the thought process for how we built it. I'll send you a link to my calendar and we can do a Zoom. Then I can share the take-aways of our discussion and improve the calculator and supporting article.

Basically there are 2 parts to the calculator and inputs.Ā

1- interactivity and design time ratios (how long it takes to develop a course of a certain length). These are based on the Chapman AllianceĀ

2- Estimating course length. This is based on my team's experience and rules of thumb for estimating how long a course will be, based on the types of inputs you often get on project. It was a pretty fun exercise, actually!

Advance travel planning and early visa application are important. If you plan to apply for a nonimmigrant visa to come to the United States as a temporary visitor, please review the current wait time for an interview using the tool below. Not all visa applications can be completed on the day of the interview; please read the information below for more details.

The estimated wait time to receive a nonimmigrant visa interview appointment at a U.S. embassy or consulate and is based on workload and staffing and can vary from week to week. The information provided is an estimate and does not guarantee the availability of an appointment.

Wait times for applicants eligible for Interview Waiver are applicable only for locations where applicants schedule appointments to submit their passport and any required documents to a U.S. embassy or consulate. The wait time estimate does not account for the time required for a consular officer to adjudicate the application nor mailing time of passports or other documents. Refer to the website of the Embassy or Consulate Visa Section where you will apply to determine your eligibility for Interview Waiver and for instructions for submitting a nonimmigrant visa application. Note that applicants must be a national or resident of the country where they are applying to be eligible to apply via Interview Waiver.

These estimates do not include time required for administrative processing, which may affect some applications. When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on individual circumstances of each case.

I wanted to create a spreadsheet to calculate burn time when given (A) dV needed, (B) Engine ISP, and (C) total weight. I thought I could do this myself but my head is spinning from doing searches here on the forum and google. It seems some of what I found was incorrect, and the other half I'm not sure how to interpret and put into an Excel document.

That will give inaccurate results when the burn times are longer than a few minutes because it doesn't take into account the higher acceleration as the ship gets lighter from burning fuel. (no it won't)

No it won't, If you have calculated how much fuel you need to burn from your start mass and ISP (rearrange the rocket eqn) then you have already taken the increase of acceleration into account. this is how better burn times calculates.

To help you make a decision on whether or not you would like to buy back your military service time, use the new Military Service Earnings/Buy Back Estimator tool. This tool will project your estimated earnings and the estimated cost of buying back your military service time. Please note: This tool will only work with CAC enabled computers.Ā

An official estimate of your earnings can take 60 business days/12 weeks. With the new online estimator, available 24/7, you can quickly receive an unofficial estimate of your military earnings and the estimated cost of buying back your military service time.

The unemployment benefit calculator will provide you with an estimate of your weekly benefit amount, which can range from $40 to $450 per week. Once you submit your application, we will verify your eligibility and wage information to determine your weekly benefit amount. For more information, refer to How Unemployment Insurance Benefits Are Computed (PDF) or the Unemployment Insurance Benefit Table (PDF).

If you did not work at any time in the last 18 months and did not earn any wages, your estimated weekly benefit amount will be $0 because you did not earn enough wages during your base period to qualify for unemployment benefits. For more information, visit Eligibility Requirements. You do not need to apply.

Your estimated weekly benefit amount is $0 because you did not earn enough wages during your base period to qualify for unemployment benefits. For more information, visit Meeting Eligibility Requirements.

Estimating costs and time in instructional design and elearning development is not actually too complicated to get a reasonably accurate number to help you create a project plan, communicate with your stakeholders, and keep the project on the road.

Our eLearning Development Calculator helps you estimate your course length, the development time, and your hourly costs to calculate your total course cost. Check your project time and costs now, or read more about these factors just below the tool.

Get our free eLearning project plan template!

Now that you have your project hours from our calculator, you can set up a full project calendar with just a few clicks using this handy Excel spreadsheet.

So, what is a Level Factor, exactly? It is a ratio reflecting the number of minutes (or hours) required to develop 1 minute (or hour) of elearning at a given interactivity level. For example, on average, one minute of a Level 2 program will require 197 minutes (or just over 3.25 hours) of development time.

Keep in mind that this is a start-to-finish number that includes every aspect of project development, from the very first discussions all the way through to final LMS testing! As such, the total minutes requirement is spread out over tasks, time, and, likely as not, people.

If some portions of the total project will not be part of your own time estimate (say, if you are starting from a completed script and will not need to produce that), consider using the Low Level Factor. Or, if your project is pushing the limits of its level, consider using the High Level Factor.

Custom elearning development is often quoted based on total project cost, without reference to the hours required to complete the project. If you already have a project quote, simple division using the estimated hours generated by the calculator will give you an hourly rate.

This download time calculator will help you determine the time it will take to download a file at a given internet bandwidth. An internet bandwidth provides information about a network's upload and download speed, and the faster the internet download speed is, the faster we obtain the file or the data we need. Keep on reading to learn how long it takes to download, let's say, your favorite video clip.

Storing more bits together means that more information is present in the file. Grouping 8 bits together forms what is called a byte. A single symbol or letter in a text file takes up approximately 1 byte of computer storage. Like any other unit of measurement, when we talk about large amounts of something, we can use prefixes to quickly show the scale we are dealing with. Trust us. This is much better than using a huge number and the same unit of measurement. In file sizes, we also use a set of prefixes to express large amounts of data, and you can see these prefixes in the table below (or try the byte conversion calculator).

As shown in the chart above, we can express a thousand bytes as one kilobyte, 1000 kilobytes as one megabyte, and so on, just like in SI units. However, for a very long time, this conversion does not hold. Since data usage measurement follows the binary system, which uses powers of 2, a kilobyte used to be equivalent to 210 bytes or 1,024 bytes. On the other hand, a megabyte is equal to 1,024 kilobytes, and so on. Nowadays, we commonly use 1,000 (or the SI conversion) instead of 1,024 (binary conversion) to convert these units. However, new prefixes have been developed for binary conversion in case we need to use them. These prefixes are shown in the table below.

Uploading and downloading data can take a while, depending on the file's size and transfer rate. Think of it like pouring water into a beaker. Pouring water from one beaker to another will only take a little amount of time. However, if we place a funnel on one beaker, the amount of water flow will decrease due to the narrow part of the funnel.

The flow rate of the water in this analogy is similar to the transfer rate of a file. We can compare a funnel's narrow tube part to what is called the internet's bandwidth. The larger the bandwidth is, the more data that can be transmitted at a time. Therefore, a file can be transferred much faster if the internet connection has a larger bandwidth.

Now that we know how to determine the transfer speed for our uploads and downloads, we can now calculate a file's download time or duration. Calculating download time is as simple as dividing the size of the file you wish to transfer by the transfer speed of the network that the transfer will go through. However, we have to be careful with the units we use since this could be quite confusing. 2351a5e196
