We are going to use clay to create a bowl. By rolling the clay into small balls and pressing them into a paper bowl, our clay bowls will take shape!

Materials we need:

• Clay

• Surface area to work on clay

• Water / Slip

Start by making a pinch pot! When you have a pinch pot ready, turn it on its side. The opening of the pinch pot will be the mouth of your clay creature! Add eyes, teeth, horns, or whatever you want to make your creature unique. Remember to score and add water to join clay together.

To finish clay, we can use glaze and then fire the clay again OR we can use acrylic paint or other painting methods. A fun way to paint is to use crayons to color the clay bowl, watercolor on top, and to finish it with Mod Podge or glue.
