We are going to look at an artist and illustrator named Eloise Renouf. She uses simple shapes and colors to create patterns for artwork as well as prints that go on fabric, paper, and other items!

  1. Take a look at this slideshow about Eloise Renouf.

  1. How do you think she makes her art?

  1. What do you think it is like to be a designer and illustrator that creates images that get printed on things that people buy?

  1. We will start by creating our own painted papers to use in our Eloise Renouf inspired landscape creations!

Directions - Class #2

Time to make your collage! What is a collage? How do you make one?

  1. You will choose a shape to trace on the back of your painted papers. Then cut out the shapes to make your trees.

  1. Those shapes will then be glued onto a background paper. Be sure to try out overlapping shapes to see if you like how it looks!

  1. Then, with small pieces of cardboard as stamps, dip the sides of the cardboard pieces into paint to make the branches and trunks of the trees.
