Total esports solutions provider Versus Programming Network (VSPN) has just received a monetary injection worth $60m (£43.89m). Prospect Avenue Capital (PAC), Guotai Junan International, and Nan Fung Group have invested all that money in VSPN hoping that it will create additional technologies in esports production and ‘deepen the layout of esports IP trends and operations’.
The Chinese company has said that it will use this investment to produce more content and expand its influence overseas.
Dino Ying, Founder and CEO of VSPN, commented:
“We are very excited that this round of funding was successfully closed at the beginning of 2021. The esports industry is through its nascent phase and is entering a new era. In this coming year, we at VSPN look forward to showcasing diversified esports products and content to more business partners and fans throughout the industry.”
In October last year, VSPN received an investment worth $100m (£73.14m), and that money was injected into the Chinese firm by Tencent Holdings, Tiantu Capital, SIG (Susquehanna International Group), and Kuaishou.
VSPN is already expanding its reach, and last week, the company acquired Banana Gaming & Media.
Ying added:
“We are counting the days until the pandemic is over and we hope that we can make fast and steady progress in expanding VSPN internationally, participating in the making of global esports standards, and supporting the development of a sustainable esports ecosystem world-wide.”
