LetsPlay.Live, a broadcaster and esports tournament organizer from New Zealand, has partnered up with Riot Games. The deal states that LetsPlay.Live will become the broadcast partner for 2021’s VALORANT competitive season in Oceania.
The VALORANT tournament in Oceania will start this February and it will have three stages. Each stage will feature a Regional Final. The top eight teams in each stage will split an AUD $10,000 (~£5,577) prize pool. After the Regional Final, teams will compete in Oceania Championship and will have a chance to split an additional AUD $20,000 (~£11,154) prize pool.
The teams who show the best results in this competition will qualify for the NA + OCE Last Chance Qualifier that can lead them further to the VALORANT Global Championship.
LPL’s founder and Managing Director, Duane Mutu, stated:
“To be kicking off the year partnering with Riot Games to bring Oceania official VALORANT pathways is phenomenal. LPL are excited to be offering an international avenue for our region’s players in 2021 and to be showcasing teams through broadcast for fans of VALORANT worldwide.”
Chris Greeley, Director of Esports at Riot Games, added:
“2021 promises to be a groundbreaking year for VALORANT esports, and we’re tremendously excited to kick off global play. We know that VALORANT has been supported by Oceania players since BETA and we are thrilled to be offering pathways for the region.”
