After winning a ‘competitive bidding process’, German esports organization Berlin International Gaming (BIG) has been selected as 12th BLAST Premier Member Team. Before BIG entered the scene, 100 Thieves held that position but were replaced after their exit from CS:GO.
Robbie Douek, the CEO of BLAST, said:
“BIG are highly respected in the industry and have been one of the most successful esports organizations over the past 12 months – making them the perfect addition to BLAST Premier as a Member Team. We undertook an in-depth and extensive process when selecting BIG for our latest Member Team, the scope and level of interest and investment for this final slot is testament to the incredible growth and success of BLAST Premier over the last 12 months.”
Founded four years ago, Berlin International Gaming has evolved into an esports powerhouse in Europe. BIG’s CS:GO team has claimed the DreamHack Masters Spring trophy in 2020, and its LOL team is also of top-quality, constantly being in contention for trophies.
Team Vitality’s new Esports General Manager added:
“There are so many important factors to performance, team spirit, fitness, mental health support, etc. and what’s essential is that our players are convinced that this will make them play better, and play better as a team. This is my first role in esports, and I was hugely impressed by the Team Vitality brand and the infrastructure they already have in place. I’m very excited for this new challenge of bringing my experience in building performance structures around professional sportsmen to esports players.”
