PET MODE
You're new to the vast and highly dangerous world of espionage. And thus, you want to take things slow. This mode is most recommended for beginners, as this game can become very complicated. There is no shame in needing a guide to learn the mechanics, my friend. This mode is more for casual players and nerds.
Fun fact: The PET stands for Politiets Efterretningstjeneste, and is the Danish intelligence service. Scandinavia did not play a crucial role in the Cold War, however the PET was slightly involved with the handling of a KGB double agent named Oleg Gordievsky.
Story
You play as a 37 year-old man from West Germany named Ansel P. Schäfer. The year is 1964, and you were hired by the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States to inform them of Soviet activities taking place in East Germany. However, there is a barrier standing in your way, the physical manifestation of communism in all it's might, the idol of the iron curtain; The Berlin Wall. You must enter and hide within East Berlin without being discovered by Soviet intelligence, and inform the west about what they're doing, and what they're planning. Are you up for the task?
Chiphers Used
In this mode, the following ciphers can be found: Caeser Ciphers, Substitution Ciphers. It is heavily encouraged to familiarise yourself with the nature of these ciphers and to take notes while playing.
