Recent Developments in High Throughput Electrospinning and Electrospraying of Application Interest in the Biospace

This talk will present a number of recent developments carried out within our research group, in which high throughput electrospinning and electrospraying techniques have been utilized to develop applications in biofilters, active and barrier bioadhesive interlayers and coatings for packaging and for the encapsulation of various bioactives of interest in nutraceuticals and pharma.

Biography:

Prof. Jose Maria LAGARON is Group Leader and Founder of the group Novel Materials and Nanotechnology at the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) located in Valencia, Spain. He is also Head of the Joint Unit IATA(CSIC)-University Jaume I in Polymer Technology. 

J.M. Lagaron is also Founder of the CSIC spin-off Bioinicia S.L.

- Worked for several years at DSM Research (The Netherlands) and BP Chemicals (UK) as Research Associate.

- Vocal of the Executive Board of the Valencia Region Biotechnology Association, BIOVAL.

- EU Innovation Radar Award for best Early Stage Innovation within the EU in 2018.

- Promotor and Inventor of the technology behind the “Capsultek Electrospraying Project” funded by the EU SME Instrument Phase II. 

- Coordinator of the Innovation Action of the H2020 EU Project YPACK with 23 partners from all over Europe and over 7 MEuro budget. 

- Coordinator of the EU H2020 project USABLE with 25 partners from all over Europe and over 6 MEuros budget.
