Although each cultural arts rotation is very short (onle 22 days), it is important to get to know each student. Building strong relationships with students during Library class helps me to learn and remember student names and personalities quickly, and fosters a sense of community in the IMC that continues long after the Library rotation has ended. Below is an example of the "test" tool that I use to elicit personal preferences and fun facts about each student; they write answers to the test questions, and then I "take" the test and return it to them for a score. They love scoring their tests and showing me the (usually terrible) grade I achieved! I collect the scored tests after the activity and refer to them in order to learn more about each student throughout the Library rotation.
