In any case, both Just Piano and Pianoteq are pianos that you can play in live gig safely, the sound are at pro level. Ravenscroft is more a vst style, good in registration, but not too good in live situation. Too wide and too harmonics and less body.

I've now had a chance now to try the CFX. Its a very nice piano with a clean and pure sound but I do find it a touch muddy in the lower-mid range compared to the Grand D which to me also has a richer tone. I can see the CFX might cut through a mix better than the D especially in the high range area but the D better suits quieter passages where the full sound and fade can be heard.

The Just Piano app seems to be designed for the person who wants just one high quality piano rather than a selection of pianos because downloading and replacing a sound is frustratingly slow. But that one piano (a Steinway in you pocket) is really nice.

A great update to this app would be the ability to have 2 sounds on hand.

Starting from the work of Matthew Dovey on analysing Rachmaninoff's piano performances using inductive logic programming, we show how to apply the clausal discovery engine Claudien to induce theories for predicting MIDI files from the musical analysis of a score. This extends Dovey's work in several directions: MIDI-encodings are used instead of the older Ampico, a richer musical analysis within LaRue's SHMRG-model is applied, a much finer qualitative analysis of features is learned (making it nearly quantitative), and predictions are made. The application is not only relevant as yet another inductive logic programming benchmark, but also as a demonstration of the need for multiple predicate learning, sequence prediction and number handling in inductive logic programming.
