Project Type: Half-Page Newspaper Advertisement
Publication: Dothan Eagle (Dothan, AL)
Client Industry: Wellness, Cannabis/CBD
Role: Graphic Artist (1 of 3 in-house)
Stakeholders: Kelly Bexley (Manager), Client
In 2021, as one of three in-house graphic artists at the Dothan Eagle newspaper in Dothan, Alabama, I was tasked with creating a half-page newspaper advertisement for Your CBD Store, a wellness vendor in nearby Enterprise, AL owned by a husband-wife team of a doctor and military veteran. The client had previously run advertisements and needed a new design that maintained the established brand aesthetic—a calming, wellness-focused look with turquoise and gold tones appealing to their retired demographic. Working under the guidance of my manager Kelly Bexley, I ideated concepts based on the client's reference materials, then iterated through multiple revision rounds to balance brand consistency with fresh promotional messaging, ultimately delivering a polished advertisement that demonstrated my ability to navigate high-touch client relationships in my first major newspaper ad project.
