Organ Concerts for Racial Equality

Support equality through music

The events of the past several weeks have once again made plain that police violence against African-Americans is not yet a thing of the past. The protests and riots sparked by the brutal killing of George Floyd are symptoms of a nation rife with systemic injustices and unheard voices. As musicians, we often state that music helps to bring people together. Now is a perfect opportunity to support racial equality; and what better way to do that than to join together in an online concert for charity?

We are therefore inviting all organists to join us by submitting performances to be featured in the concert. All are welcome to participate regardless of skill, professional status, creed, etc. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the NAACP, which has long supported the cause of racial equality.

When are submissions due and how do I submit?

Submissions are due on June 23. Use the form HERE.

When is the concert and where do I watch it?

The concert will be on June 27 at noon EST. You can watch it either from the Concert page here, or on our YouTube channel.

What does the NAACP do?

The vision statement from their website reads "The vision of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure a society in which all individuals have equal rights without discrimination based on race."
