As the issue of mental health becomes more destigmatized and more widely discussed and acknowledged around the world, it seems pressing that we begin to address the need for action within our own equestrian community. As equestrians, we are not immune to struggles of the mind; in fact, one might argue that we are at higher risk. The mentality that leads us to toughen up, brush off the dirt and get back on, does not work when it comes to struggles of the mind.
As a result, I have found there to be a pressing need, through struggles of my own and shared stories with peers, to try to make a positive impact when it comes to mental Health.
